The Necronomicon, also known as the Egyptian book of the dead, could be opened by use of the incantation "Klaatu, barada, nikto." It was used by the father of Ramses in an attempt to gain godhood, but Ramses' mother took the book, ruining the attempt and killing Ramses' father in the process. Ramses attempted to duplicate the process, except this time he was stopped by Hercules.

Comments

Considering the same creative teams worked on both the Evil Dead films and the Xena and Hercules series, this was obviously intended as a in-joke/homage reference to the Necronomicon ex Mortis.
