History
The Civil Cooperation Bureau (CCB) is an agency established on Earth in the aftermath of the construction of the space station Elysium.
Overview
The agency strived to ensure the safety and security of Earth. One of its statements was its endeavor to keep citizens safe and neutralize all threats to Elysium. (Website)
CCB operated from dozens of manned and unmanned bases situated on every continent on Earth. (Website)
In terms of equipment, the Bureau had access to:
- Asgari Railgun : an advanced chem-elec weapon that had a reciprocating barrel that reduces recoil though it still required an exosuit to provide auxiliary power. They were designed effective and stealth anti-aircraft weapon that provides near artillery level firepower for infantry. (Website)
- Cousar Crowe Rifle : a short range anti-material rifle designed to disable anything from infantry to heavy vehicles. Though a reciprocating reduces recoil, it still required an exosuit for secondary auxiliary power. It was portable due to advanced capacitor bank technology without the need for auxiliary power whilst humans equipped with exosuits were able to operate it. (Website)
- Cousar Crowe Sky Sweeper : this man portable air defense system (MANPAD) holds a smart RPG surface-to-air guided missile attached to the traditional rifle system. Multi-staged projectile rockets launch HIEX grenades and a counter defilade system that had programmable GPS-directed precision detonation. (Website)
- EXO-0592 : these were the latest generation of wearable mechatronic systems that were developed to support and defend humans in combat situations. (Website)
- HIEX Grenade NT-RU735 : these thermal grenades were most effective when paired with the 4Sure Ballistics Missile Launcher. (Website)
- SpyVac UAV : a low altitude medium range surveillance drone that operated in conjunction with the ORYX Raven ground monitoring system allowing it to utilize both hive and autonomous navigation. Each of these drones held a camera sensor array and comms antennae dome whilst the slim SpyVac moved a quad-thrustered engine allowed the aircraft to stay airborne for weeks at a time. (Website)
- Staged Smart Stabilized Round : a fire-and-forget anti-aircraft warhead launched in four stages and having extreme long-range capabilities. An on-board independent guidance system included IR and thermal imaging with environmental sensors for wide-range atmospheric application. Tandem-charge warheads were designed for optimal energy conservation. A tiered propulsion system adjusted to changes in gravity to ensure escape velocity was achieved. (Website)
Beyond these weapons, enforcement technology of the CCB made use of automated robotic machines that included:
- Homeland Defense Force Bots : the HDF Bots were calibrated for the Elysium immigration based initiatives and were networked to respond to swarm threats in a non-lethal manner with around 1,298 being in operation. (Website)
- Police Bots : these customized droids were made for terrestrial law enforcement where they were designed for limited-response and Earth-only policing missions. They made use of modified SWAT upgrades and were equipped with on-board weapon systems for custom riot responses with 273,267 deployed by the Bureau. (Website)
- Security Humanoid Bots : the most sophisticated humanoid robotic system created by Armadyne that were developed to deal with a wide range of threats. Though engineered for battle, they were designed for peaceful operations where these bots were made to withstand Earth's extreme temperatures and required little maintenance with 483,002 deployed by the CCB. (Website)
For vehicular support, the CCB made use of:
- Elysian Fulgar Shuttle : the preferred astronautic transport of both the CCB and the Elysium Corporate Authority. They held manned, automated or unmanned navigation systems and were capable of holding four occupants with travel time from Earth to Elysium capable of being accomplished within an hour. (Website)
- HDF Deportation Shuttle : customized for the Elysium Homeland Defense Forces, these craft were used to shuttle back undocumented humans on Elysium back to Earth. These tactical airlifters were able to transport 40,000 kg though Earth's gravity prevented it from carrying large heavy payloads. The HDF Carrier was outfitted with only autonomous or remote robotic artillery. In addition, these shuttles were piloted autonomously in order to ensure maximum safety and security for Elysium citizens. (Website)
- ORYX R-165 Raven Assault VTOL : these vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (VTOL) were the preferred craft of CCB agents. They made use of nuclear propulsion rockets to travel between Earth and Elysium. An advanced External Pulsed Plasma Propulsion (EPPP) made travel between the station and the planet being only twenty minutes long. They were armed with automatic guns, air-to-ground and air-to-air missiles, automated turret-based sentry systems and a fleet of SpyVac Surveillance UAVs. All onboard weapons were outfitted with atmospheric sensors enabled accuracy in multiple environments. (Website)
- Raptor 6TX : a single-rotor light attack utility helicopter that provided command/control and assault support to terrestrial CCB agents. They were the primary aircraft for armed reconnaissance, combat expeditions and fire support missions. (Website)
Members
- Jessica Delacourt : a female Elysian official who headed the Bureau as Secretary of Defense though was unhappy with the President of Elysium which saw her attempt a coup though she was ultimately killed by rogue operative Kruger.
- Kruger : a male Earth based mercenary involved in black op missions for the Bureau and funded by Secretary Delacourt until he learnt of the command codes for Elysium whereupon he killed her only to be killed by Max Da Costa.
Appearances
- Elysium: (2013)
