The assassins broke the truce with the thief families in order to claim the gift from the Tithe Collector. (Gambit v1 #1)

- In X-Men, the Assassins Guild featured in the 1990s cartoon series in the episode "X-Ternally Yours". They were shown to be a centuries old group that had an old hated rivalry with the Thieves Guild. For 300 years, they paid tribute to the X-Ternal where they gave a tithe to her every 10 years. Around 10 years prior, they were rewarded by the X-Ternal with power with Bella Donna being the new chosen one to provide the tribute. However, she planned to secretly eliminate her rivals in the Thieves Guild by switching their tithe with a fake with the aim of the X-Ternal killing the thieves for their failure. Despite her plans, Gambit and the X-Men revealed the deception during a fight with the assassins with Bella Donna being stripped of her powers.
- In X-Men: Evolution, the Assassins Guild was re-imagined in the animated series as a gang called the Rippers who appeared in the episode "Cajun Spice". They were a rival gang of the Thieves Guild with Julien being one of their members and their group being based at Bloodmoon Bayou.
