Doop is a comic character that features in Marvel Comics.

Biography

His origins were traced to near the end of the Cold War when he was built as part of the Doop Project. (X-Statix v1 #21) One account held that he was born to Mama Doop and Papa Doop. (All-New Doop v1 #4) He was deployed in that conflict where it was noted that he was instrumental in bringing about the fall of the Berlin Wall that led to the collapse of the Soviet Union. Doopspace was a place beyond the margin and was a dimension that was known as Marginalia. It was held as the world between worlds which was where the story began and ended with it being a veritable Doop World. Time operated differently within this realm as it was in-between the various moments in history. (All-New Doop v1 #2) Inhabitants of this dimension were referred to as Marginals who considered suicide to be a grave sin. (All-New Doop v1 #4)

  • Doop was created by Peter Milligan and Mike Allred where he made his first appearance in X-Force v1 #116 (July, 2001).

  • In Marvel Heroes, Doop appeared as a NPC in the setting of the MMORPG where he randomly manifested in the map with players that killed him gaining random items from his body whereupon he respawned again at random intervals.
