Tana Nile is a female extraterrestrial character that features in Marvel Comics.

Biography

Tana Nile

She came forth as a witness against Ronan the Accuser where she claimed to had seen him secretly making overtures to Skrull Baroness S'Ybak with him offering to betray the Kree empire in exchange for control over the conquered territories. It was her testimony that saw Ronan fall from grace as he was stripped of his badge as a Public Accuser and exiled to a periphery world. (Annihilation: Ronan v1 #1) Ronan later decided to seek her out in order to find the truth about his exile leading to Tana going into hiding. She went to the world of Godthab Omega where she joined the ranks of Gamora's band of female warriors known as the Graces. Upon joining them, she had requested their aid in protecting her from the Kree Accuser. (Annihilation: Ronan v1 #2)

  • Tana Nile was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby where she made her first appearance in Thor v1 #129 (June, 1966).

Television

  • In Guardians of the Galaxy, Tana Nile appeared in the setting of the animated television series in the episode "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" where she was voiced by actor Jessica DiCicco. This version was shown as being the daughter of the Grand Commissioner of Rigel with her being an adolescent who fled Rigel-3 as she wanted to continue to a emotion-filled party lifestyle on Conjunction as she attempted to avoid the Rigellian coming of age ritual called the Centering. The Grand Commissioner hired the Guardians of the Galaxy to bring Tana Nile back to Rigel-3 where after some difficult they were able to apprehend her. Tana's father warned the Guardians of his daughter throwing tantrums and that they were to keep her away from a group of Rigellian rebels called the Empathetics that were renegades who refused the Centering and instead wanted to keep their emotions.
