Biography
Red Shift was a male extraterrestrial of unknown origins who came to become a Herald of Galactus. (Galactus the Devourer v1 #1)
The three Heralds then joined the forces of the United Front that had been gathered by Nova Richard Rider where they stood their ground on the world of Daedalus 5. During the fight against the Annihilation Wave fleet, Firelord proved instrumental in defeating the enemy's orbital forces leading to the capture of their queen Extirpia though the act left the Herald in a coma-like state. (Annihilation v1 #1) Red Shift and Stardust then went to the surface where the allied forces were attacked by Ravenous and his Seekers that were bolstered by the arrival of the Centurions. (Annihilation v1 #2)
Overview
Personality and attributes
Powers and abilities
As a Herald of Galactus, Red Shift was empowered by Galactus with the Power Cosmic making him equal in strength to another Herald. It was said that he travelled in bursts of light. He was also armed with a pair of swords that provided him a number of additional abilities. Red Shift could use them in melee strikes against enemies. The blades were said to enhance his capacity to bend space as he could also use them to cut tears into dimensional rifts allowing him to displace objects through time and space. These dimensional portals were opened through a complex array of powers that involved manipulation of space/time and the electromagnetic energy that bound everything together. He could not only use these gateways for travel but could use them offensively against enemies as well such as creating a portal in front of him to intercept an energy blast then manifest its exit point heading towards another foe. (Galactus the Devourer v1 #2)
