History

The Mechanical Beasts ("kikaijū") were giant robotic automata that were based on the creation of the Mycenae Empire. The Mycenae were an ancient island nation that once ruled Bardos where their mechanical creations managed to thwart any attempt at invasion. However, a terrible earthquake devastated the island and brought the downfall of their empire. Centuries would pass and into the modern age a human research expedition led by Juzo Kabuto came on Bardos to examine the ruins. Their investigation led to them finding the giant wrecked remains of the Mycenae automata with one of the scientists named Dr. Hell studying them. He decided to secretly place remote control devices on the machines as they were rebuilt to serve him and he turned them against the rest of the research expedition. He then decided to use the automata to accomplish his goal of world domination and with the other scientists removed he had no obstacles in his path. However, Juzo Kabuto managed to escape and fled where he sought to stop Dr. Hell's mad scheme with him returning to Japan. To prepare for his future conquest, he re-built some of the automata to create giant machines that he called the Mechanical Beasts.

Overview
