History
The First Prime was a title held by the chief Jaffa warrior who served their Goa'uld overlords.
The First Prime of Cronus was commanded by his master to attack the forces of a Goa'uld more powerful than him at the time. The battle was impossible to win and was inevitably lost but for the failure Cronus decided to exile the First Prime and his family from his domain. They later fled to Chulak where the fallen First Prime's son Teal'c sought to become the strongest Jaffa so he could serve as First Prime to Apophis who was a sworn enemy of Cronus. (SG1: Fair Game)
Shak'l looked to kill Teal'c in order to secure his rise to the rank of First Prime. (SG1: Cor-ai)
