The Department of Metahuman Affairs is an organization that features in DC Comics.

History

Origin

The Department of Metahuman Affairs was an agency that was set up to deal with the new rise of Metahumans on Earth.

Sarge Steel was then noted to had made efforts in bringing back the Department of Metahuman Affairs. (Wonder Woman v3 #2)

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.

In the wake of the Supermen Theory, the media around the Earth came to believe that the majority of Metahumans were actually artificially created by the United States and that they were all made to be living weapons as well as agents for the Department of Metahuman Affairs. (Doomsday Clock v1 #5)

Overview

It was said that the mission of its director was to make sure the government and superhero community worked together to keep the peace. (Wonder Woman v3 #1) They were said to be federal agents who were the country's first line of defense against super-powered threats. It was said that in cases where they could not handle situations themselves then they called in support from a superhero. (Wonder Woman v3 #2)

In reality, Diana Prince was actually Diana of Themyscira who was also known as the superhero Wonder Woman. (Wonder Woman v3 #2)
