Icon is a male extraterrestrial comic superhero who features in Milestone Comics.

Origin

Arnus was a humanoid extraterrestrial native to the world of Terminus that was a member planet of the Cooperative.

On the Justice Moon of Taldega, he decided to remain in his human guise in order to represent the planet Earth that was being deemed too dangerous to the Cooperative. (Iron v1 #25)

Personality and attributes

Upon returning home, he was set to return to the original configuration of his body. However, Arnus came to find himself more comfortable within his human skin after having spent over a century within it. (Icon v1 #25)

  • Icon was created by Dwayne McDuffie and M. D. Bright where he made his first appearance in Icon v1 #1 (May, 1993).

In other media

Television

  • In Static Shock, Icon himself did not appear in the setting of the DC Animated Universe series though a possible reference to him was made in the Dakota-based Freeman Community Centre.
  • In Young Justice, Icon appeared in the setting of the animated television series where he was voiced by actor Tony Todd. He and Rocket were seen protecting civilians from the Injustice League. Afterwards, he was offered membership into the Justice League and joined their ranks. However, he was among the many heroes that were infected by the Starrotech from the Light through their brainwashed operative Red Arrow. After being freed, he came to represent the Justice League founders during their trial on Braal for crimes committed when they were under the control of the Light.
