Personality and attributes
Goemon came to develop a true sense of loyalty towards Lupin with him refusing to give away his secrets even when being tortured.
Though an ally to Lupin, he was shown as being easily annoyed at his antics. This was particularly the case with Lupin's infatuation with women. Generally, Goemon was shown to oppose Lupin directly when his jobs or actions conflicted with Ishikawa's own sense of morals.
He was shown to be strict in following Japanese culture.
It was shown that he was a descendant of the historical figure Ishikawa Goemon.
Powers and abilities
He as an incredibly gifted martial artist where he was skilled in both hand-to-hand and melee combat. Goemon was an adherent of several styles of martial arts though was shown to know Kenjutsu, Karate, Jujutsu and Iaidō.
The sword he used was Ryusei ("shooting star") though another one wielded by him was Zantetsuken ("iron-cutting sword").
