Gamma Flight is a team that features in Marvel Comics.

History

Gamma Flight was a team of superpowered operatives that was created by the Canadian government's Department H where they were a second tier training group underneath Alpha Flight. After Department H was disbanded, the team was similarly disbanded as well with their fate being uncertain at the time. (Alpha Flight v1 #1)

Under Nemesis, the team were deployed on an assignment to Montreal where they responded to an unknown force killing people in the neighbourhood. (Alpha Flight v1 #76)

The team was disbanded in a merger with Department H and Alpha Flight leading to some of the members leaving the group. (Alpha Flight v1 #90)

After Bruce Banner's disappearance, Captain Marvel decided to form a task force headed by the depowered Walter Langkowski with this Gamma Flight being tasked with finding the missing Hulk. (Gamma Flight v1 #8)

In the aftermath, Gamma Flight remained inactive after ending the threat of gamma weapons from Shadow Base only for the black ops facility to go into the hands of the Hulk. Remaining on standby, the team sprung into action after receiving reports of an attack on Phoenix, Arizona but a number of large monstrous creatures. Thus, the Flight arrived on the scene where they aided the Hulk and his allies in fighting off the giant beasts. (Immortal Hulk v1 #30)

They took the captive Hulk to the orbiting Alpha Flight station where he was kept detained and visited by Henry Peter Gyrich. During this time, Joe Fixit had commandeered the Hulk's body and adopted a human guise allowing him to escape his restraints. Gamma Flight went to apprehend him but he damaged the exterior of the station allowing him to be sucked out into space where he changed back into his Hulk form allowing him to survive re-entry onto the the Earth's surface. (Immortal Hulk v1 #40)

After going rogue, the team went to a safehouse to rest where they decided to dedicate their efforts in helping other gamma mutates. It was then that they responded to an incident involving a new gamma mutation named Dionne. During the fight, part of the team remained in the field as they discovered that Dionne being pursued by Skaar whose powers had been restored. (Gamma Flight v1 #1)

In appearance, Gamma Flight were a team of superpowered operatives originally established by the Canadian government. (Alpha Flight v1 #1)

The original incarnation of the team consisted of raw superpowered recruits. (Alpha Flight v1 #1)

It was later re-purposed to serve as a monitoring group that watched and intervened in actions conducted by Gamma mutates. (Immortal Hulk v1 #40)
