Biography
Original Timeline
Bubba Sawyer
Leatherface was living with his brothers Drayton and Nubbins and Grandpa on their farmhouse in Texas. Siblings Sally and Franklin Hardesty go out with their friends to investigate the robbing of a local cemetery in order to make sure their grandfather's grave has not been violated. They run afoul of Nubbins and eventually the rest of his family, culminating in Leatherface killing everyone in the group except Sally. Leatherface and Drayton bring Sally into their home, intent on killing and eating her. She escapes by jumping out of the window, with Leatherface and Nubbins in hot pursuit. She manages to elude Nubbins, who is run over by a passing truck. When Leatherface arrives on the scene, the trucker throws a pipe wrench at him, causing him to fall backwards and cut into his leg with his own chainsaw. The driver panics and runs off, and Sally dives into the back of a pickup truck, narrowly avoiding Leatherface's chainsaw as the truck drives away. Enraged, he swings his running chainsaw around in all directions in a macabre dance. While Nubbins held Sally down, Leatherface helps Grandpa Sawyer in killing her with a sledgehammer. However, due to his immense age and failing strength, Grandpa Sawyer kept on dropping the hammer, forcing Leatherface to pick it up for him multiple times. During the struggle, in which both Leatherface and Nubbins attempt to help their grandfather, Sally manages to break free and escapes from the house. Leatherface then pursued her with Nubbins, his brother, chainsaw in hand. While being attacked by Nubbins, Sally manages to get a passing truck to stop, which resulted in Nubbins' accidental death. With his brother dead, Leatherface was forced to chase after Sally himself. While the panicking truck driver and Sally escape, the former throws a wrench at Leatherface, causing the serial killer to fall backwards and cut into his leg with his chainsaw. This minor injury prove to be ineffective as Leatherface continues pursuing them. After the truck driver escaped, Leatherface now focused solely on killing Sally. After she managed to escape on the back of a pickup truck, he began swinging his chainsaw around in rage.
One night in 1987, Leatherface and Chop-Top, who is Nubbins' twin brother, went for a ride in his truck along with the latter's corpse. Bubba uses Nubbins' body as a puppet and attacks two young men in a car, who are making a call to a radio station. This resulted in a car crash, in which both of the men inside are killed and the Sawyer brothers get away. Vanita "Stretch" Brock, a radio DJ, hears everything and puts it on a tape. She later brings it to Sheriff Lefty, the uncle of Sally and Franklin Hardesty, who decides to try and look for the killers.

Thomas Brown Hewitt after his mother Sloane died giving birth to him in August 1939 at the Blair Meat Co., a slaughterhouse where she works, and her uncaring boss leaves the infant to die in a dumpster a lady named Luda Mae Hewitt found him and took him home to raise him. The Hewitts worked at and owned the Blair Meat Co., but after losing their jobs they switched to kidnapping people, murdering them (often by chainsaw or meathook) and butchering their flesh, as family member - Charlie - claims that he got the idea from eating human flesh in the Korean War after he became a prisoner of war

Jedidiah "Jed" Sawyer since his childhood was pushed by his family, to kill using a chainsaw, however he was unable to. After leading a teenage girl named Beth Hartman into a death trap in 1955, her father, sheriff Hal Hartman has Jed committed to a Mental Institution, he was there for almost ten years. In 1965 he escaped with several other patients from the institution, kidnapping a nurse. During his years in the Institution he became a friend of Bud, they were best friends until he dies on the run. When Jed is trying to escape from Hal Hartman he shoots him through his face, destroying part of his mouth leaving him with the inability to talk. When Hartman puts Jed in the same hole where his daughter died, Verna and her family track him to the place, saving Jed. When Jed is finally home Verna tries to sew Jed's mouth, using a harness to keep his face together but this leaves him deformed. When Hal Hartman is tied up inside Jed's house, he takes the chainsaw and finally kills Hartman. Lizzy, the nurse escapes from Jed's house, when Jed caught her she told him that his mother is crazy, immediately Jed cuts her head with the chainsaw. In the final scene Jed is becoming Leatherface, using Lizzy's face as his first mask. He's lost all trust of anyone except for his immediate bloodline, who he will trust immediately and unconditionally even if the treatment is not reciprocated.
On 18 August 1973, Sally Hardesty, her invalid brother Franklin, and their friends Pam, Jerry, and Kirk, travel to a cemetery in Newt, Texas to inspect the resting place of Sally's grandfather after hearing news reports of corpses being dug up in the area. After learning that her grandfather's remains are intact, the group drives to a gas station to refuel their vehicle. When the station's proprietor, Leatherface's father and/or brother Drayton Sawyer, informs them that the station is temporarily out of gas, the group abandons their plans to leave Newt and drives to Grandpa Hardesty's farm with the intention of spending the night. At the Hardesty home, Kirk and Pam diverge from the group for recreational purposes when they spot the Sawyer Residence from afar. The two intrude in the house to see if there is any gas, when its resident, the mentally handicapped killer Leatherface, slaughters Kirk and puts Pam's body in a freezer. Eventually, Jerry discovers the Residence in search of Pam and Kirk. Startled by the presence of yet another intruder in his house, Leatherface kills Jerry and leaves the house with his chainsaw, hunting for any other potential trespassers.
At night, Leatherface comes across Sally and Franklin, the latter of which he murders. Sally panics at the sight, and flees to the gas station with Leatherface in pursuit. She outruns Leatherface, but is captured by Drayton and brought back to the Sawyer Residence for dinner. After taunting Sally at the dinner table, Leatherface, his brother Nubbins Sawyer, and Drayton give Grandpa Sawyer a hammer so that he can kill Sally with it. However, Sally slips from her restraints and dashes out of the house and into the road. Despite being chased by Leatherface and Nubbins, Sally escapes in the chaos when she is picked up by a passing trucker.
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Leatherface was a tall, overweight man with peach skin, brown eyes and dark hair. He has small, yellowed, slightly crooked teeth. For a large portion of the film, he wears a white shirt with a yellow butcher's apron, blue jeans, black shoes, a yellow bracelet and a male human skin mask that has black hair. He also wears a black tie with a blue stripe on it. When he is at home doing chores, Leatherface wears pink shirt with a cooking apron, a tie and an elderly woman's face with greying brown hair as a mask. When it was dinner time, Leatherface wore a dark blue suit with a white shirt underneath, a tie and a pale woman's face with makeup and curly brown hair as a mask.
