Giant-Man (Hank Pym)

Main Article: Hank Pym

Hank Pym developed a series of capsules containing the Pym Particles which he and van Dyne used to grow or shrink to various heights; he also developed capsules that enabled him to grow to greater than normal heights. Thereafter, Pym preferred to use his power to grow to giant size for crime fighting and called himself Giant-Man. (Tales to Astonish v1 #49) At first, he found that he could not support his own weight if he grew to a height above twelve feet. Later, he was able to reach far greater heights, even 100 feet, and still move about comfortably, but he became weaker in proportion to the amount he grew beyond twelve feet. However, his size-changing imposed great strains on Pym's body that he believed could be fatal, and, upon deciding that their careers as Giant-Man and the Wasp were proving too great a danger for van Dyne, who seemed to think of adventuring as a way of showing love for each other. Pym decided to retire as a costumed crime fighter as well as member of the Avengers. (Avengers v1 #16)

Giant-Man (Bill Foster)

Main Article: Bill Foster

Bill Foster was a biochemist in the Plans and Research Division for Tony Stark's Baltimore factory. He was hired to be the lab assistant of Dr. Hank Pym, the first Giant-Man, when an unstable growing serum trapped Pym at a height of ten feet. Dr. Foster helped him find a cure to change his size back to normal. (Avengers v1 #32) Dr. Foster moved to the West Coast to take over the research and development section of Stark International in Los Angeles and became the boss of the three brilliant scientists known as the Whiz Kids. Having memorized the formula to "Pym Particles" in his work with Pym, he synthesized it in the hopes of eliminating its harmful side effects. Eventually, when he tested it on himself, he found that it had indeed given him the ability to grow in size like his former employer and that he had successfully duplicated Pym's powers. (Black Goliath v1 #1)

Giant-Man (Raz Malhotra)

Main Article: Raz Malhotra

Raz Malhotra was born to Indian immigrants in Denver, Colorado. (Secret Empire: Brave New World v1 #1) In college, Raz's field of study was artificial intelligence. Unfortunately, the A.I. divisions of numerous companies shut down right before Raz graduated following Hank Pym's change of heart regarding the nature of these beings, and his subsequent attempts to rid the world of them. No longer with a chance at the job market of his career of choice, Raz saw himself forced to work at a tech-support company called Techbusters once he moved to San Francisco. (Ant-Man Annual v1 #1)
