Mechagodzilla

Mechagodzilla was a giant robot that was created by aliens to destroy Tokyo so they could build their new civilization there (they were doing this because their planet was being swallowed by a black hole). Constructed from the powerful metal space titanium, Mechagodzilla was brimming from head to toe (literally) with weapons of all sorts. His armaments included eye lasers, a mega-ray in his chest, finger-missiles, knee-missiles, and toe-missiles. Mechagodzilla's first fight was with Anguirus, whom he thoroughly trashed, who once beaten most likely alerted Godzilla about Mechagodzilla.

After this, it was only a short while before Godzilla showed up and fought Mechagodzilla, but in the battle both monsters were injured and needed healing/repairs. After he returned he wiped the floor with King Caesar and was ready to kill him when Godzilla showed up. After a short thrashing Godzilla suddenly developed magnetic powers and soon ripped off Mechagodzilla's head.

Later, the same race of aliens found and rebuilt Mechagodzilla to once again destroy everything. This time, with the help of Titanosaurus, Godzilla was thoroughly trashed, until agents of Interpol interrupted Titanosaurus' ears with supersonic transmissions. Godzilla gained the advantage, and once again ripped off Mechagodzilla's head, only to find that the aliens had this time given him a back-up head. Thanks to the intervention of Akira Ichinose and Jiro Murakoshi, who destroyed the alien controls, Godzilla finally managed to put a stop to the threat of Mechagodzilla.

Heisei

Mechagodzilla is built as an anti-Godzilla weapon by the United Nations Godzilla Countermeasures Center using 23rd-century technology reverse engineered from the remains of Mecha-King Ghidorah. Mechagodzilla overpowers Godzilla in Kyoto, but is rendered harmless by a voltage backsurge caused by Godzilla. Mechagodzilla is recovered and merged with the smaller airship Garuda to form Super-Mechagodzilla (スーパーメカゴジラ, Supa-Mekagojira). This combined mecha later fights both Fire Rodan and Godzilla. It proceeds to cripple Godzilla by destroying its secondary brain and mortally wounds Rodan. Rodan then sacrifices its energy to revive Godzilla, who then uses its new red spiral atomic breath to destroy the weakened Super-Mechagodzilla.

Secretly built by Apex Cybernetics as an anti-Titan weapon and modeled after Godzilla, it is remotely piloted by Ren Serizawa via a telepathic link originating from a skull of Ghidorah's left head that was acquired after it was torn off by Godzilla. However, conventional energy sources proved insufficient to power it to full capacity.

As Mechagodzilla is being built at a facility in Pensacola, Florida, Godzilla senses Ghidorah's presence whenever the mecha activates, which causes him to search for and eventually attack the facility. Due to the secrecy of the project, the public misinterprets this as Godzilla having gone rogue, resulting in Monarch and Apex taking Kong to the Hollow Earth in search of an energy source to confront Godzilla with; simultaneously, Apex covertly plans to use it to power Mechagodzilla, now housed within Victoria Peak. Godzilla and Kong clash en route to the Hollow Earth in the Tasman Sea, but ultimately the team finds and retrieves the power source, in the form of 'Hollow Earth Energy'.

After Godzilla and Kong fight a second time in Hong Kong, Serizawa charges the mechanical Titan with the untested Hollow Earth's energies, upon pressure from Apex Cybernetics' CEO Walter Simmons. However, the process unexpectedly allows Ghidorah's mind to possess Mechagodzilla, who then kills both Simmons and Serizawa, goes on a rampage in the city, and faces Godzilla. Tired and wounded from his earlier battle with Kong, Godzilla is easily overwhelmed, and is nearly killed before Kong joins the battle. Kong's axe initially proves ineffective against Mechagodzilla, as its energy was depleted after battling Godzilla. As Mechagodzilla maintains the upper hand, Josh Valentine tampers with its control panel via alcohol spillage, stalling it long enough for Godzilla to supercharge Kong's axe with his atomic breath. Kong then uses his fully powered axe to dismember Mechagodzilla's limbs, and finishes it off by tearing off its head.

Personality and attributes

Powers and abilities

One incarnation was protected by an armor plating made from an alloy called NT-1, which is coated in a layer of artificial diamond. The coating allows it to absorb energy from energy weapons.

Mechagodzilla can attach to the warship Garuda to form Super Mechagodzilla. Upon doing so it gains Garuda's powerful Maser Cannons as well as the ability to continuously hover above the ground by using Garuda's massive engines to achieve lift. When the Garuda connects to Mechagodzilla, all damage that Mechagodzilla had sustained before connecting is repaired, as seen when its right eye that was destroyed by Rodan earlier in the final battle switched on and started functioning normally.
