Biography
Glenn Talbot
It was known that he had a younger brother by the name of Brian Talbot who stayed home with their mother. (World War Hulk: Gamma Corps v1 #1)
Years ago, Major Talbot was on a mission where he was captured by Soviet forces under the Gremlin. At a secret facility in Siberia, he was interrogated when Department X dispatched the Winter Soldier to aid in the process. Talbot came to realise that the Winter Soldier was actually Bucky Barnes and reminded him of his past. This broke some of the brainwashing over Barnes who aided in Talbot's escape but he was captured before he could flee the site where his handlers wiped his memories again. (World War Hulks v1 #1)
Major Talbot was later assigned to the U.S. Army base where General Ross wanted him to keep Dr. Bruce Banner under surveillance. For his assignment, he spent two weeks studying all the records about his target. Whilst there, he asked the General's daughter Betty Ross to show him the base with the young major being smitten with her. (Tales to Astonish v1 #61)
During the Chaos War, Amatsu-Mikaboshi tore open the veil that divided the worlds of the living and the dead as he tried to unmake the universe. This caused a number of dead to briefly return to Earth with Talbot among them. At first, the Red She-Hulk attacked him for betraying her but Doc Samson revealed that the earlier act was by a Life-Model Decoy. Glenn then proclaimed his love for Betty and regretted how his past actions had hurt her. He came to lead other soldiers in attacking the forces of the Chaos King that were looking to claim the fragment of Death in Marlo Chandler. (Incredible Hulks v1 #619)

- Glenn Talbot was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko where he made his first appearance in Tales to Astonish v1 #61 (November, 1964).
Alternate Versions
- In Ultimate Fantastic Four v1 #5 (2004), an alternate version of the character named General Talbot appeared in the Ultimate Marvel reality that was designated as Earth-1610 in the Multiverse. Talbot is a colleague and friend to General Ross, and operates in the Baxter Building think tank. Talbot arrived too late to prevent Army troops from shooting Ben Grimm. The troops believed Grimm to be an evil "mutant". After being shot, Grimm determined his new orange, rocky form was indeed 'bullet proof'.
- In Hulk: Broken Worlds v1 #1 (2009), an alternate version of Glenn Talbot appeared in the House of M reality that was designated as Earth-58163 in the Multiverse. At some point, Glenn married Betty Ross and the pair fled to Australia to escape Magneto after Australia had been conquered by Hulk. Before leaving, Glenn stole a prototype Inhibitor Collar and wanted to convince the Hulk to begin mass producing them in Australia. After meeting the Hulk, he took Betty to his home, leaving Glenn behind in the refugee camp 'Punyville'. He began drinking and met 'refugees' who convinced him into joining them in using the collar to put the Hulk in his place. The group traveled to Hulk's house and in the ensuing fight, Betty was seemingly killed by Arclight. Mentello revealed he had been using his powers to convince Glenn to trust them. The Red Guard were defeated by the Hulk, leaving Glenn cradling the body of Betty.
- In Future Imperfect v1 #2 (2015), an alternate version of Glenn Talbot appeared in the Battleworld domain of the Dystopia reality that was designated as Earth-69413 in the Multiverse.

- In The Marvel Super Heroes, Talbot appeared in the 1960's animated television series in the Hulk segment where he was voiced by actor John Vernon.
- In Incredible Hulk, Ned Talbot appeared in the 1980s animated television series where he was voiced by actor Pat Fraley.
- In The Incredible Hulk, Talbot appeared in the 1996 UPN animated television series where he was voiced by actor Kevin Schon.
- In The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Colonel Talbot appeared in the animated television series in the episode "Nightmare in Red" where he was voiced by actor Troy Baker. Major Talbot is a friend of General Ross and works along him in the Hulkbuster unit, he tried to help him to convince S.H.I.E.L.D. to bring Ross a blood sample of the Hulk by making false claims that the Hulk is a menace and a wanted fugitive harbored by 'costumed vigilantes' namely the Avengers.
- In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Glenn Talbot was introduced into the shared continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe where he was portrayed by actor Adrian Pasdar.
Films
- In Hulk, Talbot appeared in the 2003 live-action film where he was portrayed by actor Josh Lucas. This version was a former military officer who turned into a bio-sciences executive at a Defense Department contractor called Atheon. Glenn Talbot was one of the soldiers pursuing the Hulk and a long time friend of Betty Ross. When Bruce Banner was involved in "The Hulk incident", Talbot becomes obsessed in taking a sample of his blood as part of a super-soldier program for Atheon. When the Army captured Banner, Talbot taunted him to the point where he transformed into the Hulk. Having underestimated the Hulk's strength, Talbot was easily thrown aside as Banner broke free. Talbot, badly wounded during the brief fight, tried to take the sample he wanted again when General Ross, his superior and mentor, managed to capture Banner. The scientist was put in a restrictive chamber and forced to transform, but once again, the Hulk broke free before the sample was taken. Ross ordered an evacuation of the underground base, but Talbot ignored him and, being the one in charge for the government's decision, ordered a complete lockdown and followed the Hulk in the facility's corridors. Having blocked the hulking behemoth with a special foam, he tried to kill him with a rocket launcher, but the rocket bounced off Hulk's impenetrable skin and into the wall behind Talbot, the resulting explosion killing him before he could flee to safety.
