To test his mettle the Silver Monkey and his Master sought him out just as Connor was seeking to test his skills against worthy fighters. He met Connor in a gladiatorial fight and made short work of him. Connor was no match for the poise, precision and sheer skill of the Silver Monkey. The entire fight was taped and sold in underground fighting rings, thus elevating both combatants in the martial arts world. The Ashram was then taken over by the Monkey Fist Cult and they trained and recruited there.

In other media
Television
- In Beware the Batman, Silver Monkey appeared initially as a villain where he was voiced by actor James Remar. The episode "Safe" marked his debut on the animated series where he was shown as a member of the League of Assassins that had some familiarity with Tatsu Yamashiro and served under Lady Shiva. She dispatched him to capture Dr. Jason Burr in order to get the Ion Cortex. Following the failure in the mission, it was discovered that Tatsu had survived and defended Dr. Bur leading to the League concentrating on her as the bigger prize. During his battle with her, he had discovered that she still carried the Soultaker Sword but kept this fact from Lady Shiva. In "Family", he was responsible for getting Bethanie Ravencroft to lure Bruce Wayne to the Argus Club in order to get Tatsu Yamashiro to hand him the Soultaker sword which he intended to use to depose Lady Shiva and make himself the leader of the League of Assassins. However, his plan failed as Shiva had learnt of his plot and imprisoned him whilst taking the sword for herself. In "Darkness", he remained in the League's prison where Batman himself was detained where Silver Monkey initially attempted to kill him. Afterwards, the Dark Knight used a hidden strong wire to cut through he bars of the cell where he enlisted the aid of Silver Monkey as the pair sought freedom. Silver Monkey would direct him to the exit of the facility but Batman intended to destroy the Ion Cortex stating that the assassin should depart but in the future he would arrest him with the martial artist calling the Dark Knight a fool. However, Silver Monkey would come to his aid in battling assassins and Lady Shiva as he claimed that it was a matter of honor after Batman had helped in his escape. He would force Batman to escape whilst he held off the League's warriors and took a sword to battle Lady Shiva who had the Soultaker with her stating that this was a battle that was long overdue. The events of the fight were not depicted but Lady Shiva was shown as the evident successor who had the mask of Silver Monkey that she threw on the floor.
