Faction War

The Faction War was a battle between the 15 factions of Sigil that occurred in year 130 of Factol Hashkar's Reign. Engineered by Duke Rowan Darkwood, it destroyed some parts of the City of Doors, but was intended merely to serve as a cover while Darkwood attempted to cast the Sigil Spell (which would give him power over the city itself). Darkwood was sent to the Mazes before he could try to cast the spell, and his aged future self Gifad (who had been sent to the past by a botched escape attempt) was sent back even further into the past.
After the war ended, the Lady of Pain ordered all the factions to either leave or disband.
