- 1933: Real World - The Reichstag in Germany is set aflame under suspicious circumstances.
- 1939: Real World - Borley Rectory, reputed to be the most haunted house in England, burns down. One witness claimed to have seen ghosts moving around within the burning building.
- 1951: Real World - The 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is ratified, limiting presidents to two terms.
- 1973: Real World - American Indian activists occupy the Pine Ridge Reservation at Wounded Knee in South Dakota, beginning a 71-day standoff with federal authorities.
- 1974: Real World - The first issue of People magazine is published.
- 1991: Real World - After 100 hours of fighting, Iraqi forces completely retreat to their country. As part of the terms of their defeat, Iraq is supposed to disarm.
