Transmetal

Transmetal is an altered Maximal (Cybertron) or Predacon (Destron) state created by the interaction of their protoform-based bodies with the energies of a quantum surge. Transmetals have more organic robot modes, mechanical beast modes, and a third "vehicle" mode (really a subtle modification of their beast mode).
