The Xanatoses save Princess Elena from bandits, and David receives a coin from Prince Malcolm that will ensure his fortune. Malcolm marries Elena, and a young Demona steals the Phoenix Gate for the Archmage; after witnessing the aftermath of the massacre in 994, young Demona keeps the Gate and splits it between herself and a young Goliath.
