Events

• Gargoyles, Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles: September 28. Castle Wyvern receives a band of human refugees fleeing from the Viking leader Hakon. ("Awakening" Part I; Ask Greg)

• Gargoyles, Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles: October 1. Castle Wyvern and its inhabitants are betrayed by the Captain of the Guard (and secretly, Demona) in the hopes of freeing the Wyvern Clan of gargoyles from human scorn. Instead, Hakon slaughters the entire clan while they sleep by day, leaving only a handful of survivors who rescue Princess Katharine and the other people of Wyvern. Meanwhile, Demona (who hid elsewhere) discovers the horrible results of her betrayal. At the Viking camp, the Magus, believing Katharine dead, blames the gargoyles, placing them (except for Goliath) in stone sleep "until the castle rises above the clouds." The Magus realizes his mistake, but is unable to restore the gargoyles. Katharine vows to protect the eggs of the Wyvern Clan, and Goliath has the Magus place him in stone sleep as well. Katharine and company decide to take the eggs to King Kenneth, and Tom vows to protect them with his life. Demona, who ran away from the castle and hid again, returns to Wyvern too late for these events, only seeing Katharine and company leaving Wyvern with the eggs. An angry Demona steals food from a farmer boy named Gillecomgain and slashes his face, creating the first Hunter. ("Awakening" Parts I and II; "Avalon" Part I; "City of Stone" Part I; Ask Greg)
