History
The Abnormals
Around eight thousand years ago, a race of humans emerged who were noted for their great and extraordinary intelligence. These Praxians had been present in many parts of the world and had built strongholds which they used in a long war against a race of vampire called the Sanguine Vampiris. During this time, they cultivated allies in the form of a wide variety of Abnormals who were considered vermin by the Vampires. Following their loss of the conflict, these Humans along with their Abnormals were forced to flee the surface. Their defeat in the war allowed the vampires to claim many of their strongholds and numerous attempts were made by them to reach the underground city. These attempted assaults and infiltrations led to Praxis developing heavily advanced defensive technology that specifically targeted vampires.
Three of the most powerful hyperspecies Abnormals came to form a delicate balance with the city of Praxis. (Episode: Pax Romana)
The Cabal would come to launch a biological weapon called Lazarus that was designed to make Abnormals attack humans at the Yukon/Alaska border. (Episode: Revelations)
The Sanctuary was forced to house several Abnormals until the other bases are rebuilt. (Episode: Eulogy)
