With this fortune, he established a powerful criminal empire in New York City where his reputation led to him being known as the Big Man and as the Big Bont. Among those that paid up to him was Roscoe Sweeney who went by the name of Fixer that fixed fights held in Hell's Kitchen for a long time. (Daredevil v2 #66)

Alexander was at his restaurant when he was approached by the new masked vigilante known as Daredevil. (Daredevil v2 #66) After being found guilty, he was sent to Ryker's Island Penitentiary for a long sentence of around 20 years. Around 14 months ago, he came to see the news that revealed that Daredevil was actually Matt Murdock. This revelation resulted in Bont deciding on getting his revenge on the man who put him away. (Daredevil v2 #69)

Fourteen days before his release, he secretly spent thousands of dollars for a small supply of Mutant Growth Hormone to be supplied to him that was to be used in his plan to get his revenge. (Daredevil v2 #69)
