Biography
Anna Valerious was a princess born to a Gypsy clan that lived in Romania in the 19th century. She was one of two children with her brother being Prince Velkan. Her family were noted to had waged s long struggle against the threat of Dracula who ruled and terrorised their land. During her youth, she had seen her father spend countless hours in finding a way to destroy the vampire lord. This led to him attempting to decipher the means to enter the hidden realm that hid Dracula's castle. In 1887, her father was abducted and later killed by the vampire. This led to the two Valerious children continuing their fathers legacy to battle Dracula. Afterwards, the Wolf Man was dispatched to hunt and killed the brother and sister. They managed to set a trap for the beast but it sprung itself from the cage and plummeted over the cliff seemingly killing both Velkan along with the Wolf Man. This left Princess Anna as the sole surviving member of the Valerious family whose death or transformation into a vampire would damn all her ancestors.
A few weeks later, Gabriel Van Helsing and Friar Carl came to Transylvania where Anna was living. Van Helsing was sent from Rome to protect her and to help in her family's quest in slaying Dracula. Anna in her stubborness though came to refuse to accept his help and intended to deal with the threat of Dracula by herself. However, before she had the chance to formally object, the village was viciously attacked by the three brides of Dracula: Aleera, Verona, and Marishka. Anna fled, knowing that the brides had come for her to finish killing off her family. This left Van Helsing fighting Marishka, whom he shot with arrows with holy water on them and killed. This iswas when Van Helsing gained Anna's trust and she decided to work with him and Carl. As Van Helsing and Anna continued on working together they both came to fall in love with one another. However, Aleera came to kidnap the princess with Van Helsing being told that he had to deliver Frankenstein Monster in exchange for Anna. On all Hallows's Eve, Dracula intended to turn Anna into his bride but she was saved by Van Helsing.
Ultimately, Anna was killed by Van Helsing while he was the Wolf Man but since Dracula was killed prior to her death, Anna and the entire Valerious family is freed from Purgatory and is accepted into Heaven, since her family's quest to kill Dracula has been completed. She smiled at Van Helsing, while her body was being burned on the pyre behind him, as he looked into the clouds feeling her presence with him.
