Aquagirl (Lisa Morel)

Main Article: Lisa Morel

Lisa Morel was a female Atlantean born in Atlantis where she was among a group of children that were a throwback to an earlier era. These offspring could only adapt for a brief time to underwater conditions but would eventually die underwater. To save them, these children were ejected from underwater Atlantis in waterproof lifeboats that sent them to the surface with Lisa being among them. These exiled offspring emerged in the Atlantic Ocean where they were discovered by passing human ships where some of them were saved. Twenty years ago, a passing yacht found the tiny lifeboat that found Lisa where the childless Morel family took her in as their own. Her adoptive father was Dr. Hugo Morel who was the famous ichthyologist and had written many books on the natural history of fish. (Adventure Comics v1 #266)
