Biography

Baby (Japanese: ベビー, Hepburn: Bebī) was the last known survivor of the Tsufuru race that were destroyed long ago at the hands of the Saiyans. Though related to that species, he was actually a weak cybernetic parasite that was created by genetic engineering whereby his DNA was melded with that of the king of the Tsufurus. As a result, he was effectively a clone of the king and a hybrid of his creators. He was created as part of a plot to get revenge against the Saiyans by becoming the most powerful being possible whereupon he would destroy every trace of the Saiyans. During his development, Baby created an android scientist by the name of Dr. Myuu to care for him as he slumbered. In time, Myuu came to believe that he had created Baby and the doctor was responsible for gathering energy for the parasite along with aid in his development. The actions of Dr. Myuu eventually brought him into conflict with Son Goku, Trunks and Pan who were present as Baby was reawakened. Despite his awakening, the three humans managed to easily defeat the parasite with their Saiyan powers. Though defeated, Baby managed to escape whereby he began to take energy from those he infected and added it to himself. This was in an effort to boost his power levels and make himself strong enough to battle the Saiyans. Baby was first confronted by Goku, Pan, and Trunks while they are on the planet M-2, home to Dr. Myuu. During the encounter, Baby is still confined to a tank of liquid, where he is completing his regeneration. Trunks attempts to stop the process, but Baby awakens upon hearing Myuu utter the word "Saiyan" and breaks out of his tank. When Baby proves to be no match for the three Saiyans, he escapes by hiding inside of Myuu's body before killing him for no longer being useful, obtaining the Black Star Dragon Ball that was inside of his head. Using General Rilldo's body, Baby attempts to stop the Saiyans from leaving M-2, but fails and gets Rilldo killed by them instead. He then hides the Dragon Ball he had obtained from Myuu in a spaceship, where he slaughters everyone onboard and takes the body of a young boy to trap the Saiyans. While the trio takes the child to a hospital on the planet Pital just as he wanted, they had already sensed his energy from when he killed the passengers on the spaceship and and know he is still alive. Now in a doctor's body, Baby attempts to possess Trunks, but is stopped by Goku and Pan. Before they can kill him for good, however, Baby's rage overpowers them and leaves a cut on Trunks that he uses to enter his body. Although Baby briefly manages to control him, he is forced out of his body when the Super Saiyan's power proves too great for him, but not before leaving behind an egg that he can use to control him when he has become stronger. After having been forced to escape again, Baby develops a grudge against Goku for opposing him and plans to take over the Saiyans on Earth so he can become strong enough to kill him.

After being defeated again, he decided to make his way to Earth where he initially battled Son Goten who he infected. Baby then uses Goten's body to fight Gohan and takes him over as well before being confronted by Piccolo. After quickly defeating the Namekian, Baby uses both Gohan and Goten to ambush Vegeta, who ultimately succumbs and becomes his main host, transforming into a Tuffleized Super Saiyan. Everyone else on Earth is also infected through special eggs, save for Majin Buu, who is immune to them, Mr. Satan, who hid inside of Buu, and Uub, who hid in the mountains with his family. Similar to the others, Vegeta was infected and became Baby's primary host as he deemed him the strongest fighter on the planet. Afterwards, Baby began to infect the entire planet that he brought under his control with everyone on Earth willingly serving their new master. This was the state of the world when Son Goku along with Trunks and Pan returned to Earth. When Goku, Pan and Trunks return to Earth, the egg Baby left inside of Trunks activates and brings him under his control again. Goku attempts to fight Baby Vegeta as a Super Saiyan 3 but is quickly defeated. Baby Vegeta then absorbs energy from Gohan, Goten, Trunks and Bulla to become Super Baby Vegeta, who Goku says has the most energy he has ever felt. He gathers more energy shortly thereafter, this time from all the people of Earth under his control, and transforms into a more powerful form: Super Baby Vegeta 2. As a result, Baby-Vegeta only had Son Goku as his only opponent where he battled the Super Saiyan 3 form of his foe which he managed to defeat with ease once Goku's transformation wore off. With his new power, Baby Vegeta easily dominates Goku and unleashes a presumably fatal Revenge Death Ball upon Goku, who is nowhere to be seen following the explosion that ensues. Baby decides to carry out the final phase of his plan: to use the Black Star Dragon Balls to wish for the return of the Planet Plant, which Baby re-dubs Planet Tuffle, and to relocate the Earthlings to the re-birthed planet via spaceships. When his progress is interrupted by Pan, Majin Buu, and Mr. Satan, Baby Vegeta orders Gohan and Videl to execute Pan. Fortunately, the young Saiyan is rescued at the last minute by Uub.

After seemingly killing Goku, Baby-Vegeta went forward to take the Black Star Dragon Balls whereupon he summoned the dragon to wish for the planet Tuffle to be restored. As a result, Planet Plant was returned and was near Earth's orbit whereupon Baby had the entire population of Earth moved to his new world. At this point, Baby had molded Vegeta's body to become the most powerful being known and had his host form transformed to resemble his own. With humanity under his control, he maintained his rule over the new Tuffle homeworld but faced resistance from a small band of survivors that had managed to escape his attempts to control them. These included Mr. Satan, Pan and Buu where eh sent his mind controlled Saiyan subjects after them. However, their pursuit was thwarted by Uub who was a powerful human warrior and a student of Goku. After learning his masters fate, he decided to avenge him and defeat Baby. He managed to put up a fight against Baby though was unable to defeat him leading to him to be injured in the process. He was saved by the intervention of Buu who then merged his body with that of Uub where the two became stronger a a result where they came to be known as Majuub.

Despite Goku's earlier defeat, he managed to return and came to Planet Plant in order to battle Baby-Vegeta but was once he was defeated. A battered and broken Goku then gazed upon the Earth that now served as Tuffle's moon with this triggering a primal reaction in his Saiyan form. A result of this led to Goku being transformed into his Oozaru form that was even more powerful with this being known s the Golden Oozaru. In this form, he lost his senses and went on a wild rampage destroying everything on Planet Plant until his granddaughter Pan managed to help him regain his true self. As a result, Goku went through a new transformation whereupon he left the Oozaru form to shrink back into an adult body that was a new transformation known as Super Saiyan 4.

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Baby was a humanoid entity though with inhuman features as his form was coated in a dark substance. Initially, he was small in size around the height of a toddler but this changed as he grew to adulthood. When matured, he resembled a blue-skinned teenager with newly formed facial markings and a standard outfit. Elements of his appearance were incorporated into his host bodies that he managed to take over.

He was single-minded in seeking the revival of the Tuffle race and exterminating the Saiyans. Though claiming the Saiyans were barbaric, Baby was shown to enjoy battle and fighting against his foes. He was shown to have little concern for his parasitized servants where he was ready to eliminate the Saiyans under his control when fighting a more powerful foe. As such, he was shown to dispose of servants once they had fulfilled their purpose such as when he destroyed Dr. Myuuu after his gestation was completed. After becoming the Golden Great Ape, he pretended to be in a mindless rampage where he massacred many of his followers simply to test his new powers.

Such was his ambition that he had hoped to surpass the power of the Eternal Dragon Shenron.

Baby was noted for being incredibly childish and immature. This was seen by him being prone to taunting his foes and entering into a rage if he was teased. In one case, he grew angry at his followers coming to his aid after being knocked back by Uub.

Powers and abilities

As an artificially engineered being, Baby demonstrated the power to manipulate his Ki and had a number of martial art skills. Thus, he could emit Ki in the form of energy blasts, use it to fly and enhance his endurance along with fighting potential. He appeared in a variety of forms each of whom were stronger than the last and represented a different stage of his development. Even in his infant form, he was stronger than normal combatants with a scream powerful to push his foes back. In this state, he could unleash powerful bright light from his eyes allowing him to temporarily blind his foes with him using this opportunity to potentially escape. Despite this being the case, he was unable to fight against Super Saiyan 3 form combatants and had to resort to escaping. Baby was ultimately a parasitic being that entered into host bodies and absorbed both their energy along with their abilities. Through such means, he gained stronger and developed into a more mature form. The stronger the host then the more energy Baby was capable of utilising. Weaker non-powered targets could be possessed but they offered little nourishment as energy and it required hundreds to provide meaningful power. This process resulted in his infantry form maturing into his teenage form that was proven to be strong enough to battle against a Super Saiyan. Baby had stated that his nature also meant that he could reform himself if a part of him survived an attack.

Baby's true strength lay in his ability to take over host bodies where he gained their powers and their memories in the process. To accomplish this, he had the power to liquefy his body allowing him to enter into a persons body. This was achieve if the person had wounds that allowed this form to enter into their forms. Through this means, he gained power from hosts which he took from weaker bodies and simply erupted from their bodies in search for new prey. However, in stronger targets, he could take possession and use them as a host form in battle. In this state, he could amplify their abilities allowing him to use his own natural talents in addition to the hosts fighters skills with these being increased as a result. In his teenage form, it was initially possible for him to be forced out of a body through powerful Ki such as that by a Super Saiyan. However, Baby was able to leave a piece of himself in his victim. These were an egg which remained behind upon Baby exiting the host. He could then activate this egg at any point forcing the former host to be under Baby's control and subject to his commands. He could perform this ability on the inhabitants of an entire world making them all willing followers to him.

Ultimately, the strongest host was chosen by Baby to house his essence. Those that were targeted were possessed and he began to mould their form into one suiting his needs. This included them developing the traits and appearance of a Machine Mutant. As noted, he had the power of assimilating all the attacks of the host with their Ki changing colour to his signature pink and him making variations of their traits. In this state, he was able to enhance his host body allowing it to battle even the likes of fully powered Super Saiyan 3. He was able to make use of the Afterimage Technique leaving behind an image of himself behind whilst he raced to a different location. Among the abilities Baby had included:

  • Destructo Disc (気円斬 Kienzan, lit. "Spirit Circle Cut") :
  • Revenge Blast (リベンジブラスト Ribenji Burasuto) : a Kiai technique whereby Baby screamed and emitted a powerful pink energy wave around him that damaged his surroundings.
  • Reverse Shot (リバースドショット Ribāsudo Shotto) : an energy bullet technique that fired blasts that dealt moderate damage but if they missed their target then they reversed course to strike them from behind.
  • Revenge Death Ball (リベンジデスボール Ribenji Desubōru) : a technique when he became Baby Vegeta with this being similar to the Spirit Bomb. It operated by drawing energy from his slaves under his control in order to make use of it. He accumulated this power as a gigantic black sphere crackling with electrical energy that was held in both his hands and using them to guide the attack. He could generate multiple such attacks in quick succession after having the followers to generate its power.
  • Super Galick Gun (スーパーギャリック砲 Sūpā Gyarikku Hō) : a technique he began to use in his Great Ape Baby form with this being a variation of his host Vegeta's Galick Gun. Its power was capable of destroying an entire planet if fully charged. A further version was the Continuous Super Galick Gun which released concentrated energy bullets from within it.
  • Final Flash (ファイナルフラッシュ Fainaru Furasshu) : a technique taken from Vegeta whereby he drew both hands back whilst gathering ki. He then placed the bottom of his palms together where he formed a sphere of energy that emitted sporadic bolts of electric yellow ki that he shot out in all direction. This led to the discharge of a massive golden beam of energy with electric ki streaming towards his foe.

He was familiar with the Afterimage Technique (残像拳 Zanzōken, lit. "Afterimage Fist") where he had the ability to move so swiftly that an image of him was left behind.

Upon possessing Vegeta's body, his form contained the traits of a Saiyan that allowed him to transform into an Oozaru though his body lacked a tail from a prior injury. However, the use of a Flux Beams created by a possessed Bulma allowed restored Vegeta's tail and restored his ability to turn into the Great Ape form. At the time, the Planet Earth served as Planet Plant's moon where it triggered a more powerful Great Ape transformation. As a result, Baby Vegeta was turned into Great Ape Baby (大猿ベビー, Ōzaru Bebi) where he was a gigantic yellow furred Ozaru with vastly increased abilities. He retained many of his techniques in this form with these being enhanced such as being able to emit a powerful scream that damaged everything around him on a planet. At first, it seemed like he had fallen into a mindless animal rage but it was shown that he retained his intellect in this form as his host body had simply become an ape.
