Biography
Bernard Houseman was the male butler to the Osborn family where he tended to Norman Osborn. In an effort to save Oscorp, Norman became desperate to save his company and intended to create Human Performance Enhancers for the task. After an explosion, Osborn was found in his home after waking up from a night he could not remember when a lady informed him that Mendel Stromm had been murdered with the Goblin suit being stolen. Bernard would apologize to her but asked her to wait outside. He was later present when Norman Osborn was killed and his body brought to his home by Spider-Man where he tended to the wound to discover that his employer had died by his own blade. After the death of Norman Osborn, Houseman would continue to serve the family by serving as the butler to Harry Osborn. He continued his service and commented to Harry that he was becoming fixated over Spider-Man and stated that his father had similarly become obsessed over his work. Harry grew angry and dismissed Houseman's remark with Benard unaware that Osborn believed Spider-Man had murdered his father.

Such was the extent of his service that Houseman saw himself as a friend to the Osborn's and loved both Norman as well as Harry.
