Billy Masterson

Billy Masterson was the American assistant of Professor Massimo Pacoli in Egypt in 1914. He was very skeptical of Pacoli's theories regarding the legend of five elements being used to combat evil. When a group of aliens arrived to take the elements from the temple Pacoli was investigating, one of them rendered the Professor unconscious. Billy, assuming the alien had killed him, pulled a gun and shot one of them. What happened to Billy after this is unknown.
Comments
- In Terry Bisson's novelization of the film, a priest attempts to serve Billy and Pacoli poisoned water to protect the secret of the five elements, as in the film. Unlike in the film however, Billy drinks the poisoned water and it is implied he perishes after shooting the Mondoshawan.
