Biography

In his black suit.

Blackthorne Shore was the brother of Sandra Shore with the two managing a million dollar company though he claimed he would handle the business whilst his sister handled the glamor. At some point, he began researching ancient texts and learnt of the Inhumanoids. Through these creatures, he believed that he could take over the world by controlling them. His study of the ancient writings led him to determine that the various Inhumanoids had been imprisoned but he would learn that their leader was the tyrant Metlar who had a vulnerability to magnetism. Thus, Blackthorne found a means through which he believed he could control Metlar and therefore the other Inhumanoids. His first act would be commandeering one of his family business's mining rigs and causing it to drill an additional two miles. This would see it break into the prison cell of the monster Tendril who had been sealed there by the Mutore Granites. With the Ravager of the Earth's Mantle freed, Shore confirmed that the ancient texts were true as Tendril departed to free his fellow Inhumanoid D'Compose. These newly freedom monsters attracted the attention of Earth Corps who began to track down the two Inhumanoids and find out their origins. Dr. Derrick Bright would examine the mine shaft where the Tendril monster emerged and as he went into the shaft he learnt that it was a cell. At this point, Blackthorne cut the line that was used by Dr. Bright sending him seemingly to his death as he tumbled down. Afterwards, he would have his men detonate a bomb to trigger a cave-in to prevent anyone else from finding out about the Inhumanoids. Once done, Shore decided to acquire the schematics and data on the Earth Corp's weapon systems. To do this, he would approach Senator Masterson who he had in his pocket and forced him to shutdown the funding for Earth Corps whereupon Masterson gave him the schematics for their weapon systems. This knowledge allowed him to forge a suit of armor that could control magnetic fields and would be used by him on Metlar. Around this time, Earth Corps had begun their own quest underground to prevent the Inhumanoids from freeing their leader and Shore would follow them. He would be observing them from the distance as Earth Corps arrived at the Granite stronghold where Magnakor kept Metlar imprisoned. D'Compose and Tendril would be responsible in freeing their leader who attacked and nearly overpowered Earth Corps. By this point, Blackthorne revealed himself and used his suit to control Metlar as well as forcing the other Inhumanoids to obey him otherwise Shore would destroy their leader. Sandra would scold her brother over his villainous actions with Blackthorne ordering D'Compose to stifle his sister with the undead horror grabbing her in his hand. Around this point, Metlar would have Tendril sneak up on Blackthorne and throwing him with a push of a limb breaking Shore's magnetic field. With his master freed, D'Compose would use his power to turn Sandra into a nightmarish monster much to the shock and dismay of Blackthorne who claimed to had never meant for such a fate for her. However, he would be facing numerous attacks from Tendril and Blackthorne would beg the Earth Corps to save him as he possessed the secrets of the Inhumanoids that if lost would allow the monsters to crush human civilization. After Earth Corps saved him, Shore would mock them and escape from the area.

He would appear next in Infernac where he discovered Metlar holding Liquidator and Auger. With his enemies in one place, Shore used his suits magnetic powers to paralyze Metlar and control him where he threatened the two Earth Corps members lives where he offered to save them in exchange for their loyalty. However, Magnakor managed to free himself from his capture and reversed polarity forcing Blackthorne to divert his attention from Metlar to the Mutore. The confusion allowed the two Earth Corps members to escape with Magnakor whilst a magnetic feedback with the Mutore sent Shore trapped within the mud. With his left behind, Shore was captured by Metlar where the Tyrant of the Core forced him to reveal mankind's source of primal energy. Blackthorne in terror would swear loyalty to Metlar and call him master as he fell under the Inhumanoid's control. To save his own life, he forged a deal with Metlar where he would direct the Inhumanoids to a source of primal energy to transform the surface into a hellish wasteland to rule and in exchange Blackthorne would control the few remaining untouched lands left. Metlar thus led the attack on the surface where he besieged a Russian military base to take the powerful cluster missiles for his plans. Shore in the meantime returned to the surface where he claimed he escaped Metlar and in the company of Senator Masterson stated that he wanted to help Earth Corps in defeating the Inhumanoids. This proved to be a trap though Earth Corps managed to make their way to the Primal Core to destroy some of the missiles thus avoiding a planetary catastrophe. Whilst Metlar was being rejuvenated by the Primal Core, Magnakor struck and imprisoned Metlar only for Blackthorne to emerge in his new powersuit where he threatened to control both the twin Mutores along with the Inhumanoid. However, Herc Armstrong arrived and knocked Shore down in order to take him into custody.

In the aftermath, Blackthorne was arrested and sent to prison when he was sentenced to five years imprisonment at the Glades Penitentiary. This led to him meeting the notorious criminal Dr. Herman Manglar with Shore's lawyer unable to secure his release. During his time in prison, Blackthorne continued his reading about ancient monsters that was used to pass the time. He then received a phone call claiming to be from his lawyer but was actually a high intelligent rogue machine known as the Cypheroid who offered to aid in Shore's escape in exchange for his aid. The Cypheroid had orchestrated a complex plot whereby it intended to destroy all its potential enemies including Earth Corps and Metlar that it hoped to turn against one another. The intention was that after Metlar killed Earth Corps that Blackthorne would capture the Inhumanoid leader thus securing the Cypheroid's victory. Thus, a part of Tendril that was serving the Cypheroid was dispatched to the Glades prison where in its rampage it freed the prisoners. Shore and Manglar quickly escaped as the prison guards attempted to capture them where during the pathway in the swamp was damaged causing Herman to fall into the water. Unknown to anyone, toxic chemicals had been dumped into it with it eating into Manglar's skin as his body can to dissolve. Blackthorne attempted to save him but the prison guards weapon fire forced him to flee but he promised to return for Herman. Shore then equipped himself with a new suit and went underground to confront Metlar where he attacked the Inhumanoid leader. However, his strike came too early as Metlar had not killed Earth Corps with Blackthorne trapped between holding the Inhumanoid or being attacked by Earth Corps. The Cypheroid was destroyed by Liquidator and Tendril attacked Blackthorne on Metlar's orders whereupon he was forced to flee with the Inhumanoid leader in pursuit. Despite the relentless pursuit, Shore ultimately managed to escape but vowed revenge against Metlar. He then gathered a team of hired thugs with equipment s they went into the forest of the Redwoods in an attempt to free D'Compose. Though attacked by the Mutores, he was ultimately able to free D'Compose from amber and secure his aid.

He then gathered the remains of Dr. Manglar from the swamp where he felt that the skeletal remains bid him to aid in his resurrection. Thus, he had D'Compose use his powers on the swamp water that brought about Manglar's rebirth as Nightcrawler. Together, Blackthorne and Nightcrawler sought to aid D'Compose in the creation of a formula to make him immune to sunlight thus allowing him to take over the world. This led to the creation of the Cult of the Undead with Shore taking on the identity of its leader Brother Druid. He used his charisma to attract the disenfranchised and disaffected youth to him where they were gathered at an underground cathedral in the city. Once there, he had mind control gas used to make them easily influenced allowing D'Compose to transform them into undead minions.
