History
Caste Grayskull was a structure on Eternia that was once the Hall of Wisdom which was the center of culture with it serving as a storehouse of all knowledge of the universe. In ancient times, it came to serve as a meeting place for the Council of Elders. They came to see a vision of the future that showed a beautiful woman in snake-clad armor and another that told the coming of a champion called He-Man. This saw the Elders concentrating their power into a magical orb and then transformed the Hall of Wisdom into Castle Grayskull in order to frighten intruders from it.

Television
- In He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Castle Grayskull appeared in the 2002 animated television series. Its origins were shown where thousands of years ago it was the seat of King Grayskull who protected his kingdom from threats such as the Snakemen. Afterwards, a new threat came from Hordak and his Evil Horde where their foe was defeated but the scale of damage from their battle created a chasm around the castle with King Grayskull dying from his wounds. Centuries later, the Council of Elders concentrated their power into a magical orb that was then placed in the large underground Crystal Chamber that was accessible only by a secret 'door' in the floor of a secluded chamber. Within this chamber was the Orb of Power which contained the combined powers of the Elders and watched over by the Sorceress.
