Hexagon is the latest incarnation of a French superhero universe whose characters were first published by Editions Lug in the 1960s to 1980s. In the early 2000s, the characters were revived by Semic, which also collaborated with Image Comics to release the characters in English, in the translated title Strangers and in a crossover with Witchblade. In late 2003, Semic cancelled its black and white comic line, including the superhero line; the characters were acquired by Hexagon, which has begun reprinting and publishing the characters anew.

Connections
Wampus crossed dimensions to meet Nexus at one point. Phenix and Sibilla also teamed up with Witchblade.
