Biography
Cindarr would be one of the many Knights that would hear Merklynn's offer of giving those that journeyed into his shrine with magical power beyond their wildest dreams during the Age of Magic that encompassed Prysmos. When journeying into the Iron Mountains, he would come into conflict with an old adversary which was Cryotek. The two would battle in the ice fields within the mountain with Cindarr becoming the victor though he would flee once Cryotek let loose his anger. After escaping, Cindarr would be one of the many Knights that was entrapped within a spider's web, calling for help. At this point, Lord Darkstorm arrived and promised to free them if they sweared loyalty to him and become members of the Darkling Lords. Cindarr's condition on joining was if Darkstorm had food in his castle to which Darkstorm said "the best" and Cindarr became a member of the Darkling Lords. Unlike his fellow warlords who displayed cunning or ambition, Cindarr was primarily noted for his obedience and physical power. During the first confrontation between the Spectral Knights and the Darkling Lords, Cindarr entered battle with raw strength, wielding his weapon with a brutish lack of finesse. When Merklynn’s enchantments tested each warrior, Cindarr proved his worth through sheer endurance rather than wit or guile, holding his ground against magical attacks that would have crushed a weaker man. His brutish resilience made him an immediate threat on the battlefield, serving as the muscle of the Darkling Lords during their early clashes.
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Cindarr was an elderly yet exceptionally hulking humanoid warrior who stood as the physically strongest and oldest member of the Darkling Lords. He possessed a weathered face with a pale complexion, a heavily lined brow, and short, styled silver-grey hair paired with a thick, matching grey beard that framed his jawline. His combat armor was highly distinctive, featuring smooth black under-layers covered by earthy red and charcoal-grey protective plating. The leg sections of his armor were molded with intricate, repeating hexagonal grid patterns, while his shoulders were adorned with finely detailed, spiked defensive straps to project a heavy, menacing silhouette. Centered squarely on his golden chestplate was a large, green magical hologram displaying the fierce head and shoulders of a gorilla.
Cindarr was defined by his simplicity and obedience. He was not cunning like Darkstorm or opportunistic like Reekon, but instead relied on loyalty to his leader and his overwhelming physicality. He often followed orders without question, serving as the Darkling Lords’ blunt instrument of destruction. While his lack of intelligence was apparent in his inability to plan or strategize, it was offset by his absolute dedication and dependability in battle. His brutish nature and limited wit made him an object of ridicule among his peers at times, but his strength ensured he remained indispensable to their cause.
Cindarr appeared as a bearded strong white male with a deep voice and was the strongest member of the Darkling Lords. Despite his strength, he is considered at times little more then a brute; too stupid to realise plots or even his own magical words to summon his magical beast. While a subject of the cruel Lord Darkstorm, Cindarr actually has a soft-spot for animals, especially cats. This can often be his undoing as he is easily distracted if an animal is in danger though this nature means that more "good natured" animals will aid him more likely then the other Darkling Lords.
Despite aligned with this villainous faction out of a binding oath of loyalty, he frequently demonstrated an innate moral compass, often refusing to take part in cruel schemes like slavery and openly abandoning high-stakes battles whenever a small animal or stray cat was in mortal danger.
While not the smartest of the Darkling Lords, he is quite loyal to Lord Darkstorm and follows his commands to the letter. His weapon of choice is that of a spike tipped club in addition to his power staff. His animal totem allows him to transform into a green coloured large ape.
Powers and abilities
Physiologically, Cindarr was a large and heavily muscled human warrior whose endurance and strength greatly exceeded that of his comrades even before Merklynn’s gifts. His transformation into a bearer of magic further enhanced his resilience, allowing him to withstand magical attacks that lesser fighters could not endure. His gorilla totem reflected and amplified his raw might, granting him access to a primal beast of overwhelming strength whenever summoned. This combination of human brawn and mystical animal power made him one of the most physically dangerous of the Darkling Lords, despite his mental limitations.
Cindarr possessed immense raw physical power and formidable martial prowess, allowing him to serve as the primary heavy enforcer for the Darkling Lords' operations. He exhibited tremendous proficiency in close-quarters combat, utilizing his massive bulk to swing a golden, spike-tipped mace with bone-crushing force against the heroic Spectral Knights. His chest armor houses a mystical hologram that allows him to physically transform into a giant, spectral gorilla, granting him enhanced primate agility and overwhelming brute strength. Furthermore, Cindarr wields a golden Power Staff of Destruction, which allows him to cast a limited-use spell by reciting a rhyming incantation. Once activated, the staff releases a towering, sword-wielding magical monster that violently demolishes landscapes, buildings, and defenses in its path.
Within Merklynn's chamber, Cindarr's power staff was embued with a special power known as the Beast of Destruction which he could call by uttering the magical words:
- "By nature's hand,
- by craft by art,
- What once was one,
- now fly apart!"
Once said, a gigantic green coloured monstrous horned beast would emerge that was the pure embodiment of destruction itself. The creature had a feral face with spikes on its back and a tail. When unleashed, the beast would attack any enemy at its path, destroying all within its way regardless of whether its armed or unarmed. However, if devoid of foes, the Beast of Destruction is quite capable of turning against the Darkling Lords. In time, he began to train the Beast where he taught it a number of new tricks.
