Biography

Original Timeline

Cyrax was a male human born in Earthrealm where he came to become a warrior in the feared Lin Kuei clan of assassins.

He came to be selected as one of three prototype cyborgs built by the Lin Kuei where he was designated as LK-4D4. Upon being brought online, he was programmed with the task of tracking down and terminating the rogue warrior Sub-Zero. During his mission, Earthrealm came to be invaded by the Outworld forces of Shao Kahn. Powerful magics were used to detect anyone with a soul on the planet but Cyrax lacked such a trait that made him incapable of being detected. This also made him a possible threat to the Outworld armies in their attempt in conquering Earthrealm.

Trapped in the desert, he was rescued from his prison by the Lin Kuei who went about to repairing the physical damage done to him. It was easy to repair him but Cyrax seemed different from when he first set forth on his assassination mission against Sub-Zero.

He was then recovered by the Special Forces where Sonya Blade and Jax Briggs helped the cyborg regain his soul. In return for their help, Cyrax agreed to join the newly formed Outworld Investigation Agency and became a scout for them who was sent into Outworld. Whilst in the realm, he was ambushed by Reptile who damaged his arm console that prevented him travelling back through inter-realm portal technology. Cyrax came to defeat his foe but had no way to return back to Earthrealm until he was approached by the vampire Nitara who offered to send him home in exchange for acquiring an object for her. The object was located in the molten depths of Outworld where Cyrax's cybernetic exterior allowed him to brave the harsh environment for a time to recover his target.

Reboot Timeline

During the Armageddon, Shao Kahn ultimately won where all of creation faced destruction but during the last moments of Raiden he managed to his past experiences back to his younger self. This created a change in the timeline as the younger Raiden was guided by the scattered visions of the future where he sought to avert this dark future.

Afterwards, Cyrax came to fall under the influence of Sektor once again after the Titan Kronika began to alter history in her bid to create a new universe that would bring balance to the realms according to her vision. To aid her, Sektor had allied with her in exchange for a place within the New Era and Cyrax fell under his programming where he was sent to oversee the reactivation of the Cyber Lin Kuei factory. Once online, the cyborg warriors then began to abduct the recruits from Sub-Zero's Lin Kuei temple in order to forcibly convert them against their will. Sub-Zero and Scorpion infiltrated the facility where they battled Cyrax along with Frost who had joined the Cyber Lin Kuei willingly. During the fight, Cyrax was freed from Sektors control where he joined forces with Sub-Zero in ending the threat of cyberization.

Overview

Personality and attributes

After being converted into a cyborg, he was given the designation of LK-4D4.

Upon regaining his mind, he came to be horrified at his transformation into a cyborg and stated he did not want to live such a life. In fact, he begged to not be brought back as a machine and that he could not live in this state anymore.

Powers and abilities

Originally, Cyrax was a human from Earthrealm who came to join the ranks of the Lin Kuei where he was trained in martial arts. This led to him becoming a skilled assassin and warrior where he learnt a number of techniques. In addition, he made use of certain weapons such as a Buzz-Saw that could shred a person's flesh.

As a cyborg, he came to be equipped with a number of built-in weaponry that was part of his new body. This included the ability to fire Energy Nets to trap a target allowing him to attack them with ease. He could also fire Detonator explosives that were spherical bombs which launched from his chest compartment. One variant was the Sticky Bomb that embedded itself in flesh in its target before exploding. Cyrax was capable of also opening up a giant sawblade from his chest in order to cut his foes into pieces. As he lacked a soul, it meant that he was invisible to attempts to magically track him.

Among the weapons wielded by him was the Sabre of Light that was a blade of energy that was later replaced by the Pulse Blade.

He possessed a self-destruct feature that could be activated via his arm console.
