Darth Plagueis is a male film character who features in Star Wars.

Biography

Darth Plagueis was a member of the secretive Force using cult known as the Sith.

Through his knowledge, he came to uncover a means of preventing the death of someone using the Force via a Sith technique that was unknown to the Jedi. At some point, he came to take an apprentice who he taught almost everything. This was until one night when in his sleep he was murdered by his own student who took over his mantle.

He came to be referred to as Darth Plagueis the Wise.

Powers and abilities

As a Dark Lord of the Sith, Plagueis was skilled in the use of the Force and tapped into its Dark Side where he drew his power. Among his kin, he was notable for having the ability to manipulate Midi-Chlorians allowing him to create life.

  • Darth Plagueis was created by George Lucas where he was referenced in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.

Alternate Versions

  • In Star Wars Legends, Darth Plagueis appeared in the alternate universe continuity of the former Star Wars Expanded Universe. He was shown as being a Force-sensitive Muun of the Damask family that were part of the InterGalactic Banking Clan. From a young age, he was found by the Sith Lord Darth Tenebrous and taken as his apprentice where he was inducted in the ways of the Sith. Thus, he followed the Rule of Two whereby there was a master who held power and an apprentice who craved it. By adulthood, Darth Plagueis maintained his public guise of Magister Hego Damask II of the InterGalactic Banking Clan and worked to achieve the Sith's goal of getting control of the galaxy and their revenge against the Jedi. Eventually, his master was killed and Plagueis came to find his own apprentice in the form of human from Naboo named Palpatine who took the name of Darth Sidious.
