Eve Trowbridge
Eve Trowbridge was a wealthy socialite who along with her brother Martin was shipwrecked on an island in the Caribbean when their yacht hit some rocks. She, Martin and a few of the ship's crew made it ashore and were welcomed by the island's owner, Count Zaroff. Although their host seemed pleasant enough and Martin was satisfied, Eve suspected that the Count had ulterior motives, especially when he would take the sailors into his private trophy room, and then the men would vanish. The Count gave no satisfactory answer to Eve's questions as to their whereabouts and constantly put off her and Martin's departure, claiming his speedboat was damaged.
Eve discovered the boat was in working order and grew ever more wary of Zaroff, although Martin wouldn't listen to her. It was only when Robert Rainsford arrived that Eve found an ally. Eve confided in him and told him of the Count's suspicious behavior. After Martin disappeared the same way the sailors had, Eve and Rainsford entered the Count's trophy room to discover mounted human heads - and Martin's dead body under a shroud. Catching them, Zaroff explained he hunted people, and when Rainsford was made his next quarry, Eve elected to accompany him rather than remain with Zaroff.
Against all odds Eve and Rainsford evaded Zaroff, his henchmen and his dogs, and were ultimately cornered on a cliff near a waterfall. Rainsford seemingly fell to his death, and Eve was taken back to Zaroff's mansion as a prisoner. The Count's intentions were plainly evident. Luckily, Rainsford survived his fall and returned, fighting Zaroff's henchmen and killing the evil Count with an arrow to the back. Afterward, Eve joined Rainsford and they left in Zaroff's speedboat.
