False Super Saiyan

False Super Saiyan was a higher-energy form similar to the regular Super Saiyan level, except that there is no physical transformation, and only the yellow aura is present. Goku achieved this form to defeat Lord Slug.

Comments

The False Super Saiyan form was created for the fourth Dragon Ball Z movie because the creators did not wish to spoil the true Super Saiyan form, which had yet to appear in the show. It was neatly ignored thereafter, though it might also be the form used by Goku against the Ginyu Force in Hell (HFIL).
