Fizzgig
Fizzgig, described as "a friendly monster," was the pet of Kira. Despite his small size he was very fierce and brave, often attacking other beings more than twice his own size. Only Kira and her extended Podling family could interact with him without fear of getting bitten. Fizzgig initially disliked Jen, but later warmed up to him. When Jen was buried in a cave-in by the Chamberlain, he remained with Jen until Jen recovered.
Later, upon being reunited with Kira in the Crystal Chamber, his eager barking unintentionally gave her position away. He redeemed himself however, when he bit the General's arm when the General tried to pick up the shard after Jen dropped it. Calling Fizzgig a "smelly hairball," the General flung the little creature into the castle shaft, and he was thought to have plummeted to his death.
Fortunately, he was saved when he managed to grab hold of the arm to which the Chamber of Life's reflector mirror was attached. Using a stick, Aughra was able to help Fizzgig reach the chamber interior, and safety.
