History
The Gaines Twins were siblings born with psychic powers whose parents were said to had been killed by Kraven the Hunter when they were young. Following the death of their parents, the twins decided to use their powers to try to get revenge on him.
When they arrived in New York City they escaped. They decided to kidnap Mary Jane Watson and manipulate Spider-Man into attacking Kraven. They convinced the hero that Kraven had killed Mary Jane. They used the image of Frank Elson to convince Peter to murder Kraven in revenge.
Spider-Man discovered the ruse and went after the twins. However, their trick forced Spider-Man to attack and nearly kill his girlfriend Indira Daimonji while looking like Roxanne.
Spider-Man then separated the two and defeated them individually. They seemingly died in an explosion. Unfortunately, the city turned against Spider-Man believing he attacked Indy.
Overview
In appearance, the Gaines Twins were a brother and sister with dark black hair named Roland and Roxanne.
Though they appeared harmless, the two actually possessed powerful mental abilities allowing them to generate realistic illusions. They used their powers to manipulate others for their own personal gain.
Roxanne was notably the older and more powerful of the siblings. Though when combined they are a formidable force.
