Genegraft Ray

The Genegraft Ray was a device developed by Locus that could selectively teleport parts of living beings away and graft them onto pre-chosen synthetic bodies. The Genegraft Ray was first tested on Blue Beetle. Locus then had the Brotherhood of Evil make a field test of the ray, and they used it to create an army of monsters using parts stolen from the citizens of Manchester, Alabama.

However, before Locus could reclaim the Genegraft Ray, the Brain used it to create a body for himself taken from parts of the recently-formed Justice League of America. Using their powers, he held off Locus from reclaiming the ray until he was defeated by the JLA and the original Doom Patrol. The device was used to fix the people of Manchester before being turned over to the government, who used it to fix Blue Beetle.
