Years ago, he was contacted by Sion Rayford who was a mage for the Researchers of Divine Wisdom who was involved in an experiment at reviving the dead that created a new being named Re=L Rayford. However, Sion regretted his actions as it involved the death of numerous people and wanted shelter for his sister Ilushia Rayford and his friend Rainer Layte. Upon his return, Sion and his sister were murdered by Rainer who fled the scene. Afterwards, he came to work with skilled mage executioners that Albert Frazer and Re=L Rayford on various missions. Re=L grew close to him after the death of her brother and she came to consider him the only reason to live in the world. During the battle, Sera Silvers was killed and Lowfan was believed to had also died but a distraught Glenn Radars decided to abandon life in the military. Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Glenn Radars was a young brunette haired man who typically wore a shirt and trousers but in an informal manner.

When he was young, he saw magic with a sense of wonder and believed that it was capable of great things in the world. Radars came to consider himself a knight for justice that was capable of achieving great things in the world. However, years of service in the Mage Corps saw him commit a number of actions that he came to regret and he began to hate this life. Glenn only persevered due to Sara who was a woman that he came to love but his viewpoint in life changed after her death as he blamed himself. He came to despise magic and believed that there was no useful application of it in the world. Radars compared it to other skills such as medicine or architecture that had a tangible effect in the world. In contrast, he claimed that magic was only used to bring about death. Radars had considered himself being a naïve fool during his youth for his views in being a knight for justice.

He demonstrated a lazy streak in that he did not wish to work but did so in order to pay for his living requirements. Glenn had said that he did not mind being a kept man if he married a rich girl with him thinking he could live off her wealth whilst he did not work. However, this was a front that he often portrayed as his hid his true intentions.

He came to greatly care for Sara and missed her deeply after her death. Glenn came to see that Sistine greatly resembled her which was one of the reasons he came to protect her. This went to the extent that he wanted her to fulfil her dream rather than be forced to abandon it. It was this reason why he ended up challenging Leos to a duel to prevent him from forcing a marriage with Sistine. Radars stated that he did not like how Leos was treating Sistine and in a flash of anger he challenged him to a duel whilst portraying the front that he himself wanted to marry Sistine in order to marry into wealth.

During Glenn's career as a professor, he was initially a lazy professor who chose not to conduct his lessons in a proper manner, choosing instead to do the bare minimum or slack off instead. However, he develops into a proper professor who despite making fun of his students, is able to properly teach them the fundamentals of what they've been lacking. This also includes paying attention to his student's capabilities, as seen during the Magic Competition Arc where he explains each person's trait that makes them suitable for each respective event. Most notable is his tendency of wanting to ensure their safety, going so far to rebel against those in the Imperial Court Mage Corps for daring to use his students as bait during certain operations.

In combat, he was able to direct others in order to tap into their innate strengths. He was also not above confronting the enemy personally rather than lead from the background. Radars was stated to do whatever was necessary to achieve a victory. As such, he was not above making use of traps and tricks in duels so long as he became a victor in the end despite claims that this was dishonourable or cowardly. It was said that his foes should not underestimate him as he was the kind of person who could lose a hundred battles but was able to achieve that one victory that he brought into his first fight. He cannot use combat magic coherently due to it being far away from his area of expertise, but he has an in-depth understanding of the concept of all types of magic, which makes him a good instructor. This also places him in conflict with the traditional Professors who favor rote memorization.

Glenn is also fearful losing anyone close to him. Following the death of Sara during a mission to apprehend Jatice Lowfan, this caused him to desert the Special Missions Annex to return living with Celica, while the trauma of losing someone close to him caused his distaste in Magic to manifest. This also includes those close to him, from his students and adopted family, which causes him to go through great lengths to ensure their safety.

Celica thus became his adopted mother, who chose to adopt him after rescuing him from Character Novel-Henrietta Henrietta Dool's lair, where she asked if he'd like to stay with her instead of his ruined village. He regards her as an important parental figure, despite not acknowledging her as his mother.

Sara Silvers was his former colleague from the Imperial Court Mage Corps Special Missions Annex, who he regards as an elder sister figure he likes working alongside during their missions in the Special Missions Annex. He first met her in the Imperial Court Mage Corps following his recruitment at the age of 15.

Eve Ignite was one of his former colleague from the Imperial Court Mage Corps Special Missions Annex, who he regards as an annoying bureaucrat who often gets in the way due to their clash in ideologies. He first met her in the Imperial Court Mage Corps following his recruitment at the age of 15.

Re=L was another of his former colleague from the Imperial Court Mage Corps Special Missions Annex, who he regards as a terrible comrade to be assigned to, but also an individual he promised to assist in finding her way in life. He first met her within Sion's Laboratory following a tip from Illushia Rayford

Powers and abilities

Glenn came to be trained by Bernard Jester in the Imperial Court Mage Corps Special Missions Annex.

Through his Imperial Court Mage Corps fighting style, he was a highly skilled martial artist able to easily eliminate most foes. Radars often engaged in practice training early in the morning where he made use of rapid strikes against test dummies. He was shown to be highly durable able to take multiple sword wounds and continue to fight despite the pain. It was said that he was incredibly resilient able to survive wounds that normally killed ordinary people. One of his trademark attacks was the Magic Punch where he simply kicked his foe claiming that despite the name the 'magic' was the fact it was a kick. Despite that, he struggled when fighting against foes that were equally as skilled as him in hand-to-hand combat. During his time as an executioner, he made use of a special pistol where he fired with pinpoint accuracy.

Though ranked as a third-rate mage, he was actually incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in the use of magic. This made him an excellent teacher allowing him to teach at the Imperial Mage Academy. As part of the Mage Corps, he became skilled in the use of military grade magic that could be used in combat. A spell he was capable of casting including crafting illusions allowing him to disguise himself and others to make them appear as another person. Among the spells he was aware of was the deadly Extinction Ray spell that fired a powerful magical blast able to destroy everything in its path but this caused a significant drain on his mana. He was also able to craft a number of additional magical tools that aided him in combat situations.

Such was his skill that he managed to develop his own unique brand of magic that was called The Fool's World. This was symbolised and placed into operation when he pulled out the Arcana card that showed the Fool. Upon activation, it created an area of effect around him that nullified any magic on the field including his own. With the exception of spells already in effect, no magic could be made around him with no spells capable of being made as a result. This effectively left him and his magical foes powerless though Radars used his superior hand-to-hand combat skills to quickly takedown his opponents. It could also be used to counter curses on individuals thus saving them from death. However, it was useless against feats that did not use magic such as those individuals able to use their spiritual reserves to summon tulpas.
