History

Haro (Japanese: ハロ, Hepburn: Haro) were a series of spherical robots that were created by humanity.

Universal Century

Haro was originally a mascot robot released by SUN Corporation in U.C. 0078. It has a basic artificial intelligence, as well as a range of features, including facial recognition, voice recognition, rudimentary speech, and the ability to move both under gravity and in zero G by rolling, walking, and jumping. Its cuteness made it highly popular among middle school students. It later became the mascot of the Colony Public Corporation, and served as the narrator for the CPC's orientation video for space colonists.

Cosmic Era

Haro was built by Athrun Zala as a gift to Lacus Clyne after he began to become romantically involved with her.

Anno Domini

Haros were created by Celestial Being where they assisted the organization in the role maintenance of its technology and equipment. They can assist in piloting a Gundam, calibrate systems, repair, network communications, and have their own AI to make certain independent judgments. While doing maintenance, the Haros usually pilot machines called 'Karel' in order to physically facilitate the repairs.
