Biography

Hiroim was a male member of the Shadow People who lived on the planet Sakaar. (Incredible Hulk v2 #94)

During the first Spike War, he was involved in fighting the infestation when he was called by the Shadow Elders when Angmo sought a treaty with the Shadow People. This saw Hiroim being warbound to him by oath where it was expected that the Imperial Sakaaran ruler would help fight the Spike invaders. Though he hated his charge, Hirioim was bound by oath to serve where he helped his master thwart an assassin attempt after which they united the tribes of Sakaar along with turning back the Spike threat. After the countless slaughters, Angmo called on a final mission from his Shadow which was to remove the greatest threat to the Father Emperor's rule which was his own young son Angmo-Asan in the walled city of An Sara. (World War Hulk Aftersmash: Warbound v1 #2)

This led to his disgrace and he came to be known as Hiroim the Shamed for breaking his oath leading to him wandering the desert for twenty years. Whilst hated by his people and hunted by the empire, the Father Emperor Angmo was killed leading to the rise of his son as the new Red King who terrorised all of Sakaar. (World War Hulk Aftersmash: Warbound v1 #2)

The Warbound made their way to the Sanctum Sanctorum of the Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange where Hiroim was able to see through the enchantments that masked the building. He then made his way inside with the intention of capturing the mystic within only to be defeated after Strange had empowered himself with the demon Zom. (World War Hulk v1 #3) Strange then took the defeated Hiroim before the Green Scar at his coliseum where he intended to battle the Hulk. Hiroim came to recover and sought to stop the possessed sorcerer who was responsible for destroying the Shadow's left arm. (World War Hulk v1 #4)

By this point, his body began to leak the Old Power as he was no longer able to contain its energies. The Warbound later were attacked by S.H.I.E.L.D. Warbots that were commandeered by the Leader where he tricked the Sakaarans into having his body absorb the Old Power. This led to a fight between Hiroim and the Leader with the latter managing to destroy the Shadow's body. With the last of his strength, Hiroim created a gigantic rock construct as he stripped the Old Power from the villain before he perished. The Old Power was then passed onto the nearest person which was Kate Waynesboro who was accepted into the ranks of the Warbound as they mourned their fallen comrade. (World War Hulk Aftersmash: Warbound v1 #5) During the Chaos War, the lands of the dead were disturbed by the actions of Amatsu-Mikaboshi when he became the Chaos King. This saw several of the dead being returned to the world of the living with Hiroim being among them. He came to be briefly re-united with Korg where they helped the Hulk and their friends against the Chaos King's servants. (Incredible Hulks v1 #619)
