Biography
Jared Nomak was a genetically engineered vampire that was created as part of the hidden secret experiments of the ancient vampire Eli Damaskinos. Damaskinos had conducted his engineering program to create a perfect vampire specimen that was free from any of their weaknesses and become the first of a new more fierce breed in the Vampire Nation. To accomplish this goal, Nomak's own DNA was re-written to remove the undesirable traits with his vampirism evolving into a new Reaper Strain. This new breed of vampire was as much as a danger to vampires as it was to humans as it was capable of spreading its genetic material turning other vampires into feral Reapers. Thus, vampires were the preferred prey of the Reaper Strain and the project was deemed a failure. Damaskinos thus ordered his 'son' to be disposed of before others discovered these experiments. However, Nomak managed to survive where he developed a hatred for his 'father' and blamed him for his condition. Thus, after escaping, he set on a plan of getting revenge on his captors and began transforming others into Reapers as part of his rampage.
Overview
Personality and attributes
Unlike the Reapers he sired, Jared Nomak demonstrated the capacity to control his bloodlust and was in control of his faculties as he was not as feral as the rest of the strain. His retention of his higher brain faculties allowed him to strategize and develop plans. In addition, he was able to engage in dialogue that was a contrast to the rest of the Reaper Strain who were unable to talk and seemingly either feral or subject to his will.
He had said that he had hated vampires and was driven by revenge against his father.
It was shown that Nomak had an innate desire to end his own existence. This was evident that when he was stabbed by Blade though the weapon was unable to pierce his ribcage and strike his heart. In that instance, Jared was shown to push the blade himself in order to kill himself.
His creation meant that the elder vampire Eli Damaskinos was seen as his father and thus his daughter Nyssa Damaskinos was akin to be Jared's sister.
Powers and abilities
Jared Nomak was a genetically engineered vampire that were part of a strain known as the Reapers. These parasitic creatures were even more virulent than normal vampires and driven by a need to feed as well as spread their infection. Blade described Nomak himself as being the carrier of the infection and he demonstrated greater control over his capabilities than the Reapers he spawned. Jared also possessed superior speed, strength, and endurance that were far beyond that of most vampires.
