History
Kashyyyk was a jungle covered world that was located in the galaxy, far, far away. It was a dense forest world that was located within the Mid Rim where they were members of the Galactic Republic.
During the Clone Wars, its position made it a strategically important world leading to the Confederacy of Independent Systems attempting to lay claim to it.
Upon the establishment of the Galactic Empire, Imperial forces came to conquer Kashyyyk where they subjected the natives to a brutal occupation. This resulted in them enslaving the Wookiees who were conscripted to serve as labourers around the galaxy.
Overview
In appearance, Kashyyyk was a dense forest covered world situated within the Mid Rim.
Locations on Kashyyyk included:
- Kachirho : a coastal city that was located on the planet.
Its native sentient and intelligent species were the Wookiees who despite their seeming primitive nature were actually an advanced race. They built their homes within the trees where they incorporated sophisticated technology into their architecture.

- Tarfful : a massive Wookiee who during the Clone Wars served as a General and led the defence of his world from the Separatists.

- In Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Kashyyyk appeared in the setting of the RPG adventure video game.
- In Star Wars: Republic Commando, Kashyyyk appeared in the setting of the first person shooter video game.
- In Star Wars: Battlefront, Kashyyyk appeared in the setting of the 2004 shooter video game.
- In Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Kashyyyk appeared in the setting of the action video game. It was shown that early in the Galactic Empire's formation an Imperial fleet was sent to pacify the planet and its Wookiee population. Darth Vader had journeyed to the world in that time after he received reports of a Jedi hiding on Kashyyyk where he killed his quarry and came to learn that his target had a son. The child was secretly in by Darth Vader who trained him as his secret apprentice who was given the code name of Starkiller.
- In Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Kashyyyk appeared in the setting of the action-adventure video game.
