The New 52

Following the Flashpoint, a new history of events was created and led to a different timeline of events.

Lena Luthor was the daughter of Lionel and Leticia with her brother being Lex Luthor. As children, she often took part in the various science experiments she and her brother Lex Luthor conducted with him loving her as well as regarding her his only equal due to her exceptional intelligence. Their father, however, was an abusive alcoholic who regularly beat his children despite their mothers attempts to stop him. Lex often took the brunt of the beatings as he attempted to shield his sister from their father. The siblings eventually planned to run away and escape from this life the moment they were old enough. However, by that point, Lena was stricken with G.B. syndrome that meant that she began to lose the ability to use her legs thus confining her to the home and him staying behind to be with her. Medical specialists said that it would be years before Lena could recover but an impatient Lex Luthor decided to create a serum from his own antibodies to get her to recover quicker. Lex secretly added his serum into the medication but it failed and instead permanently damaged his sisters spinal cord which meant she could never walk again. Their parents later died and Lex departed their home in Kansas to build a corporate empire with their aunt Lilian caring for Lena during this time. Her aunt encouraged her scientific side and brought out the good in Lena Luthor whilst helping her attend college. Lena's success led to her to make advances in bio-evolutionary studies and at that point Lex approached his sister again where he asked her to join him in Metropolis with her being offered a place at LexCorp laboratories. At LexCorp, she made numerous advancements such as helping in building Lex's Battlesuit, the development on the Amazo Virus and improvement on the B-Zero cloning technology leading to LexCorp to become a global powerhouse. (Superwoman v1 #6)

In the aftermath, Lex had discovered that Dr. Omen had created a process to imbue a person with Superman level of powers which he used to transform his sister Lena Luthor. However, she remained in her tank as the process did not work where she remained paralysed though her mind was active. She emerged from her tank and was on the floor unable to move when a female Bizarro clone arrived to care for her. With the clone, she managed to operate in LexCorp in secret as she sought revenge over her brother. She improved on the cell transfer technology to create female Bizarro clones from her and the Crime Syndicate Superwoman's DNA making an army of followers. Lena had also gained control of a Mother Box which she used to trap her brother Lex in his armour whilst she enhanced herself to superhuman levels by becoming the supervillain Ultrawoman.
