British Radio Operator

The British radio operator.

A young RAF sergeant who worked closely with Colonel Turner and Vice-Admiral Rolland. His callsign was Danny Boy. Whenever John Smith, whose callsign was Broadsword, contacted him, he would alert Turner and Rolland. He appeared to be the only person besides them and Smith who knew the true purpose of Smith's mission.

Helicopter Pilot

The helicopter pilot enters the telephone office.

The Luftwaffe pilot of General Julius Rosemeyer's helicopter. While he was working on the aircraft in the cold, he was yold by a major that the commandant wanted him on the phone, and directed him to the Schloss Adler's telephone office nearby. Entering, he found the orderly on duty sitting upright in his chair, unmoving, and was then seized from behind and stabbed to death by Morris Schaffer.

German Major

The German major in the Zum Wilden Hirsch.

This German major was in the Zum Wilden Hirsch when John Smith's group came in. He watched with distaste as Smith flirted with a waitress named Heidi Schmidt, and chided him for behavior unbecoming an officer of the Wehrmacht. Smith replied that the major ought to respect him, identifying himself as Major Bernd Himmler, Heinrich Himmler's brother. The major became afraid and proceeded to mind his own business thereafter.

Oberhausen Radio Operator

The Oberhausen radio operator talking to Wing Commander Carpenter.

This Luftwaffe radio operator worked in the control tower at the Oberhausen Airfield. He was ignorant of the goings-on at the Schloss Adler thanks to John Smith destroying the telephone lines. He thought nothing of clearing an apparent Luftwaffe cargo plane for landing, little suspecting its pilot was actually Wing Commander Cecil Carpenter. After the plane landed, a bus smashed through the front gate of Oberhausen. Its occupants shot at the guards and the driver, Smith, used its snow plow to cripple the German fighters by sideswiping them. The operator hit an alarm, and then tried to contact a Luftwaffe fighter squadron with the radio. Before he could, Morris Schaffer and Mary Ellison, under Smith's direction, fired on the control tower. The German was hit several times and killed.

Schloss Adler Telephone Orderly

The telephone orderly, moments before being shot by Schaffer.

The orderly who oversaw the Schloss Adler's telephone office. While he was making some coffee, Morris Schaffer entered and shot him with a silenced pistol. His corpse was sat upright in his chair to fool the helicopter pilot when he entered later.

Schloss Adler Radio Operator

The radio operator turns and sees Schaffer.

The officer who worked in the Schloss Adler's radio room. When John Smith wanted to use the radio to contact Vice-Admiral Rolland, he found this man on duty in the room. He was sitting and reading a magazine while listening to music on the radio. At Smith's direction, Morris Schaffer sneaked inside with a knife, but the operator turned the music off and heard Schaffer's approach. Turning and seeing the American's knife, he panicked and hit the alarm before the intruders could stop him. Smith shot him several times with his silenced pistol.

SS Captain

The SS captain in the safehouse.

A Waffen-SS officer who led the raid on John Smith and Morris Schaffer's safehouse in the village. He accidentally tripped the wire attached to a bundle of dynamite planted by Smith, setting it off. He and all of his men died in the explosion which took out the entire building.

SS Lieutenant

The SS lieutenant.

A young Waffen-SS lieutenant who was guarding General Rosemeyer's helicopter while the pilot worked on it. When a major approached and explained that the commandant wanted the pilot on the phone, the pilot left, and the lieutenant remained. The major asked him for a cigarette, which he helpfully provided, little suspecting the major was a British spy and had just sent Rosemeyer's pilot to his death.

SS Senior Lieutenant

The SS lieutenant looks up after killing Thomas.

This Waffen-SS lieutenant led the Nazis' assault against the intruders holed up in the radio room. When John Smith sacrificed Lee Thomas as a distraction, forcing him to climb out of a window on a rope, the lieutenant ran into the room while Smith and the others hid in a closet and, seeing the jiggling rope, went to the window. Seeing Thomas, he grabbed a machine gun from a corporal and shot Thomas numerous times, killing him. He and his men then ran from the room, figuring Smith and the others had already escaped down the rope.
