Biography

Malcolm Colcord

Fresh out of the army, the handsome young soldier was excited when he received orders that placed on the secret Weapon X Project site. The installation housed a joint U.S./Canadian top secret project though Colcord was not aware of the nature of the research. Instead, he was a guard that stood at the gates when a few days later the test subject broke out of the base. This saw Experiment X go on a rampage where he escaped containment and killed every guard on his way. By the gates, there was only Colcord who lost all sensation at seeing the berserker Mutant massacre his comrades. Posing no threat, he was still attacked by Experiment X who proceeded to slash at his fast and leave him with grievous injuries before departing the base. Badly injured, Colcord somehow survived as he refused to be killed by Logan and in a few short hours he was rescued by reinforcements that came to the facility. Thus, Colcord's life was saved but the injuries placed on him were severe with scars all over his body that included his face. The doctors treated him considered reconstructive surgery with Colcord agreeing to repairing some of the nerve damage but refused to have his face fixed as he felt no amount of work could give him back his old features. Upon returning home, his wife could not stomach looking at him anymore and eventually left him where she took their children away. Placed in a secluded office far away, Colcord looked to begin the long road to regain his career and his obsession at revenge against Wolverine motivating him to rise through the military ranks. This allowed him to achieve his goal which was a renewal of the Weapon X program where he sought to utilise the threat posed by Mutants as weapons against similar dangers in the future. Events in the world led to his superiors agreeing with his assessment and his plan was approved. Returning to the site of the Weapon X base, they proceeded with attempting to recover all information from the ruins of the facility. (Wolverine v2 #166)
