Manitou Dawn

It was noted that she was unwanted by her clan due to her being too spirited, fierce and clever leading to people derogatively calling her the Goat. One day, she came upon the home of Manitou Raven when he was away where she sold his horses, bit his dog and burnt his home down. Despite her actions, Raven came to had fallen in love with her with the two eventually getting married. (JLA v1 #85)

She came to introduce her husband to newly recruited coordinator Naif al-Sheikh after he joined the Justice League Elite. (Justice League Elite v1 #1)

Dawn worked with Zatanna in using their powers to track down the missing Supergirl Kara Zor-El after she was kidnapped by Doomsday. (Justice League of America v2 #56)

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.

She came to be one of a number of witches which included Witchfire, Black Orchid, Circe and Wonder Woman all of whom were marked by Hecate as young girls in order to hide a piece of her soul from powerful magic users. The witchmark was later activated leading to Manitou Dawn was overtaken by Hecate where she was forced to destroy Nanda Parbat and the goddess Rama Kushna. Zatanna and John Constantine were later able to exorcise Dawn of the witchmark thus removing Hecate's influence from her. (Wonder Woman and Justice League Dark: The Witching Hour v1 #1)

  • Manitou Dawn was created by Joe Kelly, Doug Mahnke, Yvel Guichet, Darryl Banks and Dietrich Smith where she made her first appearance in JLA v1 #75 (January, 2003).
