While most humans were making flint spearheads, the Utopians developed an advanced culture based on peace, fellowship and experience or learning. The denizens of Utopia Island were very peaceful people who took on the name of Utopians after building what they considered a perfect society free of poverty, injustice, sexual discrimination, war, and crime. They had been experimented upon by the Kree to be powerful beings and normally isolated themselves from humanity. After the outside world made the first atom bomb, the Utopians believed their way of life was in jeopardy. Building a starship, they left Earth to find a new home. (Squadron Supreme v1 #1)
Zarda chose to remain behind as their sole emissary to the Earth, a role she had assumed some years earlier as Power Princess.
